Even BAPTISTS think it's unacceptable!?! Wow - if those poor deceived brethren have such a standard, how much more should we who are actually saved?

Good job at deflection.... but the point being made is that there are many cultural circles that believe the word is absolutely in the same level of inappropriateness as the more "infamous" 4 letter words that would get bleeped on television.

Yeah, and those same cultural circles believe in the Trinity and baptism in the titles.....do you draw your opinions from them on those issues, as well?

Actually, you are still missing the point. Your retort would be appropriate if I were drawing only from within those circles, I wasn't. I was actually stating that the issue regarding the inappropriateness of the word, in a Christian forum, goes beyond Apostolic, Baptist, etc circles... that even in a government school it's considered a cuss word.
I just polled 5 parents in my office. All felt it wasn't a word that should ever be used, and only 1 of the 5 said it wasn't a curse word at the same level of the 4 letter words that get bleeped on television.
What I'm saying is, the viewpoint that this particular word is a curse word is not some small hole in wall viewpoing by a small smattering of people held to one theological viewpoint.

Bro. you're missing my point. WHO, officially, decides that a particular word is a cuss, or excuse me, a curse word. Now this is an extreme example, but bear with me. What if a group of people, in a particular office, decided that "Apostolic" was a curse word..... would that make it so?
Of course I guess we could check with the almighty "Snopes" and they could tell us. Different subject, but who checks out snopes to see if they are true or false?

Culture... with all the spokes leading into what makes a culture... is what determines the appropriateness of such things... from a socialogical viewpoint. And what I'm trying to demonstrate is just how far our culture has regressed that words like these, that so many have thought were wrong to utter, are now found acceptable in a Christian forum.

Is the "culture" now determining that the word in question is now acceptable in our society, and if so does that make it okay to use? What about the "F" word? It's being used more and more in society! Does that make it okay if the culture says it's okay? Just wondering.... not advocating it's use at all!

In some cultures yes, it has been deemed okay. Your using culture in a singular connotation, when actually, there are multiple cultures around you. I'm a member of at least 4 or 5 cultures speaking from sociology point of view.

Re: Pastor Blooper.
Bro. Robbins, I understand the point you make, even if we disagree on the technical aspect of this word. I do not recall the last time that I even used it as I desire to my language to be above gutterspeak. I do find the term to be rather juvenile at best, and therefore one that should be abandoned by the time that one reaches 5th grade.
