Yeah... I read the title and just kept skimming down the New Posts list... then I realized that Sister Alvear was the one who started the thread... I did a double take and decided I needed to drop in.

All I know about Pink Floyd is that their name is often followed by the words "The Wall"

I suppose thats a song or something.

I won't be much help here.

LOL! yea, if you knew more about them and were sitting where some of us are, knowing what a saint you are, and seeing your name and that name together is is very funny...

Pink Floyd did a movie that people take LSD and watch. They were a 70s band that had a very heavy drug influence as others pointed out.

"Comfortably Numb" was one of their big hits.

The only songs I know from them are "We don't need no education" and "Another brick in the Wall". The only reason I know these two is because back when I was in high school and in the world, my friends and and I would listen to them while we got stoned. I don't understand why but most people who still smoke pot or drop acid will tell you to this day that usually they are listening to this rock group. I don't understand it and really never did back then either.

I believe this group was known for having some pretty awesome guitar playing, so that probably is why your son knew about them.

Pink Floyd's heyday was back in the mid to late 1970's although they have come back from time to time to some acclaim.

I think their last big hit was "Another Brick In The Wall".

This is true. Their music is prefered by the stone head but the guitar riffs was their claim to fame. get rid of the drug stuff and the music itself is very good.
