Re: the Four Blood Moons

Jeremiah 10:2
Thus saith the Lord,
Learn not the way of the heathen,
and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven;
for the heathen are dismayed at them.

Besides, Israel will be on the wrong side of the world to see it, and it's suppose to be a sign for them...

ya, that's kind of the direction I was thinking.

Thanks for your input, everyone. I always have a problem with it when people claim to be able to "predict the future" based on things like this. Really? If the signs that God wanted us to see were things like this, don't you think that it would have been in His Word?

Re: the Four Blood Moons

I thought the stars were suppose to fall too. So disapointing.

When the Nile turned to blood, was it just a color red from the atomisphere?

Re: the Four Blood Moons

Jesus gives us an interesting prophecy:
Luke 21:24-27
King James Version (KJV)
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Above, Jesus lists several things that must transpire before His return. Let's look at these signs one by one:
- "they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles" This was said to the first century disciples and therefore has to point to the Roman conquest of Jerusalem in 70AD and the diaspora that followed.

- "until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled." This implies that this period of dispersion will come to an end when the "times of the Gentiles be fulfilled". This very well may imply the return of the Jewish people to their homeland. This might have been fulfilled in 1948 when the nation of modern Israel was born.

- "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars;" This indicates fearful astrological signs and portents. Eclipses, comets, etc. are all a part of this.

- "and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity" This indicates international problems on a global scale that seem to have no remedy and keep the world on the brink of war.

- "the sea and the waves roaring;" This would indicate some kind of disturbance involving normal oceanic patterns. Sea and waves "roaring" might be predicting turbulent weather patterns: hurricanes, tsunamis, etc. Of course, today we know the impact that the ocean has on global weather patterns even over continental land masses. As a result, we could expect strange weather patterns in general.

- "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken" This indicates a global sense of anxiety concerning all these things: Israel reborn (Arab/Israeli conflict), astrological portents, international problems of perplexity (food shortages, famine, disease, overpopulation, inflation, poverty, and war), and even the balance of nature seeming to be off.

- "for the powers of heaven shall be shaken" This could speak of man's tampering with physics and nuclear weapons. Or, it could simply mean that for those on earth... the very universe appears to be unstable. Solar flares, meteors, etc. endanger civilization. Man appears to be in danger from every direction.
Then Jesus brings us to it. At some point during all of this... Jesus returns unexpectedly. Maranatha!

If I were a weatherman predicting the Second Coming... I'd say that while we can't be certain... conditions are favorable for the Parousia.
