Something is wrong with this. Up a few posts, I posted a quote from the attorney of the kid's dad who said they saw the videos and contacted the police.

So either the family is lying, or the police did not do a thorough job.

My wife and I were discussing this on our walk yesterday. I think that this generation of young people is becoming religionless and have no "moral compass". They dont think of eternal consequences for their actions. (or sanctity towards human life either). There are consequences to a society that proclaims that there is no God.(and no hell)

I posted this once before when there was another mass shooting of this type..

His mental status is being blamed but how come in years gone by this sort of stuff did not happen that often? It has little to do with their mental status. These guys are ANGRY. If you read what they say or write you can see the anger and hatred.

We are doing something wrong. Personally I do blame something, but it does not end there. I blame bad parents. I blame TV, video games and music that all are one person's idea being shoved into the minds of easily impressionable people...

Re: California drive-by gunman kills six

If the police never looked at the videos after the family reporting them and if they just went to see him without doing that first, how tragic. While I realize that police may have limited time, how many people report YouTube videos to them? I would think that would be out of the ordinary, especially when coming from family.

Did any of you watch his last one? I did. I don't recall him saying he was bullied or picked on, just upset that no girls wanted him and he wanted to have sex and a girlfriend because in his mind that's what you do in college. So you go kill people for that, people you do not even know?

Re: California drive-by gunman kills six

What is unfortunate is that the left will again try to use this as a reason to ban guns. Guns cannot kill by themselves, but must be picked up by someone, and used. So, instead of trying to take guns away, the issue is much deeper, and discussion must entail for those people who are mentally ill, and what can be done to help them.

Re: California drive-by gunman kills six

I did read an article last night that brought up the problem with desensitization and movies/tv programs pertaining to killing. In reading the comments section many did not like the article. I believe it does have something to do with the things we see in the youth today.

I am amazed at how so many people are unwilling to see how messed up our media has become...perhaps because most of them are hooked by Reality TV...

I was listening to the radio and after they mentioned this I looked it up but you know the percentage of teens that view porn? It's ASTOUNDING...and of course all made possible by the Internet...that's another troubling problem

Prax, I have not seen those figures on teens. How did they compare to others who were viewing porn? And yes the internet is quite troublesome in that area.

Re: California drive-by gunman kills six

Snapchat and other apps which allow people to take photos which are erased in 3-10 seconds (or so is claimed) are very popular among the youth. Sexting is incredibly popular with young people using those apps.
