I have been the pastor of a church and I would definitely not baptize any minor whatever age without parental permission. It shows a lack of respect for the parents. If this account is true, then this pastor has overstepped his bounds and needs to be report to his superiors.

A minor can get an abortion without parent's knowledge, but can't be baptized. Sad.

Mat_19:14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. (Uhhhh. but only do it if the local laws allow it)

Re: Pizza anyone?
It is unfortunate that gimmicks are being used to try to bring people into the Kingdom of heaven. What is wrong with preaching the gospel?

I visited a church last weekend and learned that church was for saints, not sinners. Preaching the Gospel should happen outside the church, not inside. The church is for teaching, reproving, rebuking and exhorting, not for evangelism.
Guess that's why they've been at the same size they were the last time I visited over a year ago.

So, when sinners show up at church the preacher should ignore them and start "teaching, reproving, rebuking and exhorting"?

I guess. He was correct that people should be evangelizing out of the church, not hoping the church service does it for them....but there has to be a balance.
Why have a baptistry if church is just for saints?

If a 13yr old received the Holy Ghost one service and felt they needed to be urgently baptized you wouldn't do it? I agree with you for the most part, but I wouldn't think to horribly for anyone baptizing in the name of Jesus. If we are so politically correct we sometimes could also miss the will of God.
