Remember the logic was just a few months ago that the GOP needs to present a TRUE CONSERVATIVE who can actually win.

Now, the GOP is beginning to line up behind...?

smh
JD - What is a conservative?
My main hot button issue for this election is immigration.

Understanding Trump's Appeal

January 20, 2016
Of course, I would be the dissenting voice in this debate.

I can see why so many are angry that Rush has created a monster with his talking points regarding Trump.

And so, I will show you my opinion as to why Rush's commentary is a great prediction, but also why Trump is the worst candidate for that scenario.

Let's look at "what" a candidate says instead of looking at "electability".

I will leave documentation on issues showing that Donald J. Trump is NOT a credible conservative on any of them. He has flip-flopped on every major issue.

First, let's look at Sarah Palin who came out on the world stage lending her voice to strong conservative principles. We know that Donald Trump is no conservative. What does that tell me?

1. She thinks Donald can win, regardless of holding to her values, wants on the Trump train. She is like Trump - all about herself and her image.
2. She is very bitter against the GOPe for throwing her under the bus in 2008, which she reflected in her first endorsement speech with Trump.

What I can say is that Senator Ted Cruz has been treated horribly by the Establishment, YET, he stands on his conservative principles and walks on, with his head high, not getting into the filthy mud of attacking a person's character.

So, while people are, deservedly, angry, they are not looking at the big picture as to what a populist, although Trump isn't really a populist, would do to our country - they are crying - GIVE US BARABBAS!

Red Flag No. 1:

Quote:
"I have always come down on the side of security.... even if it means encroaching on the Bill of Rights". Donald Trump

We saw, recently, a Planned Parenthood hearing where PP showed their annual report reflecting they do VERY well without government funding.

Quote:
Donald Trump Is Planned Parenthood’s Favorite Republican

So, in short, Trump defended the status quo: half a billion dollars of taxpayer cash for the group.

Says he is going to support religious freedom, but sides against Kim Davis. Note that her new Governor Matt Bevin, protected religious freedom.

Regarding Tariffs:
Quote:
Trump is caught lying about his China tariff proposal—and it would hurt his supporters the most
Ultimately, imposing a massive tariff on Chinese goods would not necessarily improve the US economy. Among the consequences economists would expect:

You can't distance yourself from agreeing on a candidate's policy when you donate the big bucks.

Favors Amnesty while bashing Cruz who has never argued or supported Amnesty in any floor speech or amendment offered.

Quote:
Who Knew? Trump Favors Amnesty for Undocumented Immigrants
That’s right. Under Trump’s immigration plan, almost all of the 11 million illegal aliens (save for a small minority with criminal records) will get to return and get permanent legal status to stay here in America.

Trump supports amnesty.

Re: Understanding Trump's appeal

PO - your simile needs some explaining.

"So, while people are, deservedly, angry, they are not looking at the big picture as to what a populist, although Trump isn't really a populist, would do to our country - they are crying - GIVE US BARABBAS!"

I "assume" that your are meaning that Christ is represented by Cruz.
I would suggest that the current feeling is more like the US before the Civil War, when Lincoln was elected.

Not a comparison of Christ to Cruz in the least.

We have ALL these facts regarding Trump, just like we did Obama, but people refuse to listen because of their emotions. That is what the Jews did - Give us Barabbas!!!

Trump just tweeted a neo-nazi rant at Jeb Bush today. The man is an unhinged bully.

Quote:
Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

"@WhiteGenocideTM: @realDonaldTrump Poor Jeb. I could've sworn I saw him outside Trump Tower the other day! pic.twitter.com/e5uLRubqla"
It is on that same level - emotions trump (no pun intended) facts, logic and truth.

I will borrow from Thomas Sowell:
Quote:
"There was a time when someone who publicly mocked a handicapped man would have told us all we needed to know about his character, and his political fling would have been over. But that was before we became a society where common decency is optional."

Re: Understanding Trump's appeal

For those that are wanting to support Donald Trump, do yourself a favor. Next time you listen to a rally or an interview - close your eyes and pretend those words are Senator Ted Cruz. I would wager you wouldn't put up with it for one minute and neither would the biased media. His campaign would have been over a LONG time ago.

Does anyone care that Donald's current wife has modeling and porn photos as a bi-sexual woman?

Funny, I agree with you in theory but I don't know anyone who sold their soul to vote for Obama.

That makes her a bright and shining example for all the little girls in America to admire and emulate!
