Hello! and Praise the Lord!
I don't feel like this greeting is wrong either! I think it's great!
And Jermyn.....it most definitely is NOT junk, garbage, refuse, or dung!! SMH!! (my dear sweet granny would put a knot on your head for saying something like that!)
Why wouldn't God be pleased with the greeting?

The holy kiss is a command and is a more clear command than the command to be filled with the Spirit.
It is not the Bible's fault that your carnality makes you more comfortable with the traditions of men than actually, "doing it the Bible Way!"

It's one of the traditions of men passed on as something to judge a Christian's sanctification but it has little or no bearing on a Christian's sanctification.
Answer the phone by saying, "Praise the Lord". Then the conversation descends into gossip or slander or worse.
Answer the phone by saying, "Praise the Lord." You know your bill is past due but your greeting identifies you as a Christian and the past due status of your bills demonstrates your godly judgment and godly stewardship of the many blessings He has bestowed upon your life!
Why not just tell the world you are, "Blessed and highly favored," every time anyone asks you how you are doing?
Why not be a walking and talking spewer of religious cliches for all situations!
That way everyone will know just how much of a real Christian you are and the world will be won over by your absolute unapproachableness and lack of "common-ness"!

Praise ye Jehovah; give praise to God; a word used in songs or praise, or a term of rejoicing in solemn ascriptions of thanksgiving to God. It is used as a noun, or as an exclamation.

I know what hallelujah means. I am asking, "Why do we use Praise the Lord as a GREETING instead of Grace and peace unto you (or similar) as is the case in the Bible?"
That is all.

Are you anywhere near as disgusted with the world as you are the church?
