I believe the idea you have is applied to the entire NEW COVENANT, and not a certain part of our age. After all the works of God since ADAM, the New Covenant is the last wine that's better than the first!
Also, there is the thought of how CREATION and Adam and Eve are outlined with a NEW Adam and Eve. Jesus and the Church
Let there be light is referenced to Jesus being the light.
You have the reference to the NEXT DAY in the first chapter, like creation account, with the obvious IN THE BEGINNING starting it all off in verse 1, with Jesus baptized in the water and the dove falls on him... the Spirit of God moved (literally, brooded like a bird) on the face of the deep.
Waters are divided in Genesis on day 2.
The marriage is said to be the third day. Resurrection. It is due to the resurrection of Jesus that we have a marriage with Christ!
