Russia would only get a victory if they used nuclear warheads. Or if somehow they invaded by land as they have more tanks. They couldn’t match us with air strikes.

I’m not 100% sure of the true cause, but reality is usually pretty complex and they may be many factors involved, and they all contribute to it.

The Civil War, and World War I is where we got the terminology "shell shocked." Young people don't do very well getting their legs blown off, or witnessing their buddies getting burned to death, or head blown off. The books Red Badge of Courage, All Quiet on the Western Front, and Johnny Got his Gun do a pretty good job to explain how war is primarily a way for old men to have young men die for their agendas.

War has nothing to do about being masculine or effeminate. That's old Hollywood propaganda. My father fought in WWII and my father in law fought in WWII and the Korean War. All came home understanding that it was nasty business, and the only way for a generation to survive is to avoid sending them to die for politicians' wealth.

So Russia did the unthinkable and also says “Foreign powers that intervene in Ukraine will witness consequences they have not seen before.” Which it is a threat to NATO of nuclear war.
He is also dehumanizing those in Ukraine that oppose him calling them nazis.

It was pretty devastating to see war unfolding on a relatively developed European country and its cities.
