And notice something subtle: They don't cite research data, they cite public opinion. It's a dangerous trend in our society that we are encouraging debate in important public matters to devolve into popularity contests and uninformed mob rule.
Even Chan provided some data in the course of a previous debate here on the topic: A figure of 4% of homosexuals who try to change to heterosexual succeed, but almost all of them are involved in homosexual conversion ministry.

But by a Christian who has this unnatural homosexual attraction (who is also seeking the healing of that attraction and is not embracing it and acting on it) goes home to be with the Lord, he or she
will be healed of that attraction!
The important issue here isn't the underlying attraction* (which was caused during childhood; no one is born with sexual/romantic attraction and no one chooses to have such attraction), it's what one
does with the attraction. Homosexuals who respond to the gospel call must then come to the place of agreeing with God that their homosexual attraction is contrary to God's created design for male and female and, thus, is something for the Lord to heal. They must then seek that healing (even if the Lord spends the rest of their lives here on Earth healing the unnatural attraction, it will be healed by the time they go home to be with the Lord). Now, that's an entirely separate issue from homosexual sin, which is everything that occurs after the point of attraction. Homosexual sin must be repented of and forsaken - it is something over which victory must be gained and maintained. In my church's ex-gay ministry, it is this gaining and maintaining victory that is our focus when dealing with people wanting to come out of homosexuality.
*attraction in this context is narrowly defined as the autonomic physiological/emotional response to sexual/romantic stimuli.
