I misread something and edited this post. And so I do agree with Ronzo about the flag being raised up. That was what triggerd my mind to this text in the first place.. Just wanted to see what reactions I'd get if I posted a scripture with the dreaded word "standard" in it...... kinda like turning over rocks or logs to see what will crawl out.......

Right. I was just studying that a few days ago and reading through various translations and commentaries on it.

Perhaps the post was more TIC than a literal belief....

Has nothing to do with dress standards or any other 'holiness standards' in any way, shape or form...
Brother, you know ignorance abounds among apostolics. It would be nice if people were encouraged to actually study the Word, rather than just accept someone else's idea of what it says.

Rico,

I know you would be surprised, but I have found that ignorance abounds in a lot of places, even in the judgmental broad-brush statements of some!

Yeah... I know.

Lots of things have changed for me since I've done that for myself.

I must live a blessed life. I have never been under a Pastor that did not encourage bible study.

Oh sure, it's ok to study.....................as long as you come to same conclusion everyone else comes to!

If the Spirit is indeed leading and guiding us into all truth then all that are being lead should come to the same conclusions, yes/no? :sshhh

I would say the main conclusion is that I should prefer my brother/sister and do everything I can not to cause him/her to stumble at my liberties or lack thereof.
I would think that we need to be more considerate of each other and less with the harsh judgements. And that cuts both ways.
