1. Women keeping silent in church.
2. Social works (like taking care of the widows and the elderly).
What other NT teachings do we ignore?
Every church that I've ever been a part of observed number 1.
I don't remember the scripture that says taking care of the widows and elderly, unless you are speaking of "...pure religion undefiled before God is this, visiting the fatherless and widows in their afflictions, and keeping yourselves unspotted before the world." (paraphrased)
Every church that I've ever been a part of observed that command too.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
KJV
Acts 4:32
2 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

As far as I know this only happened in Jerusalem.
Also it was never a commandment or a rule of any kind... it appears to have been a decision their part.
Also the Jerusalem church was the recipient of financial help from other churches... one wonders if it was their decision to live communally had anything to do with their need for outside assistance.
It's in there as a direct order, whereas the visiting of the widows and fatherless is given as an ideal for which to strive.
a direct order to one many who asked what he personally must do, and the scripture also says that Jesus reply (sell everything) was spoken because Jesus saw his heart.
it was not a corporate command to the church, else peter would have included it when he was asked "men and brethern what MUST we do?"
