Okay. I did a little verbage adjustment. Instead of saying "the organization to which they belong" I put "to the ministry to which they belong", speaking of the ministry that the tithes belong to....i.e., the storehouse, etc.

I thought I would give Coop a break for a minute......

NO!!!! to Question One. (But I think you know that).
YES to Question Two. While I was still in that church, I would definitely pay tithe no matter who did or didn't. I know the end results.

There is a church in my area, independent and not Oneness, where they really do inquire about your income when you first start attending. They insist on knowing how much you make

And I have also heard of pastors that require you pay a tithe of the food stamps you get and he takes them!

in the Methodist church they ask you to fill out a "pledge" every year. You pledge that you will give the church whatever amount you choose every week for the next year. They preach that that pledge should be based on what your tithe would be. But I never could understand how that could work. What if a person lost their job? Or even better - what if a person got a big promotion with a big raise? Should they still give at the lower rate???
My parents were Methodist when I was a baby. They were very young when they got married. So they made a pledge to the church. And then about 6 months later they moved to a town about 30 miles away, so quit going to that church. After a little while they started getting BILLS from that church, demanding the pledge money they had promised to give and threatening them if they didn't send it in!!! That turned my dad off to any church for many, many years.
