CareyM, glad to hear you had a great experience at one of these types of services.

However, not all are good, and probably not all are bad.

The few that I have been to, were horrible, maybe it was a lack of preparation??

Darcie, just to clarify....I am 100% for tongues, and everything else in the book of Cor.

I guess what bothers me is the "Repeat After Me" part. The most "happening Church" I've ever been to, required no "repeat after me at all"......God did all of the instructing!

Bro Bob I know you are all for tongues, I'm agreeing with you...My point was I want to see more than people speaking in tongues... there or more gifts out there, but we don't see those type of Revival services (read those verses again)

Speaking in tongues is a sign to the unbeliever ... yet we have believers go in a frenzy thinking someone is finally saved because they spoke in tongues. Our prayer language is for edification, empowerment and intercession between us and God.

Phil, someone commented that there was a time we celebrated when a sinner came to the altar and demonstrated heartfelt genuine repentance ... today ... we've mechanized salvation.

Speaking in tongues was the sign that Peter and the Jews recognized when Cornelius and his house received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.....and Peter was a believer.
