Money is not the root of all evil. Without it the Kingdom of God on earth would be bereft.
It's the love of/for money that surpasses love for God that is the killer.

Sounds like the Million dollar march in Columbus Ohio at Last Year's General Conference's Foreign Mission service. W/O the admission fee.

I Love, Respect and Honor Bishop T. D. Jakes! I knew him before he owned a tape recorder or TV Camera and I had dinner with him a couple weeks ago. He is a kind, humble, hospitable servant of the Lord.
You do yourself a disservice by disrespecting the man of God. Bishop Jakes is a Mighty Man of God.

The $10.50 admission fee in most cases covers the cost of renting the Coliseum. I took my family to Quicken Arena in Cleveland to see Joel Osteen. It cost $10/person. And they took up an offering as well. Our family had a great time.

Bishop Jakes does not charge to get in an event. Who ever sponsored the event was the one that dealt with the money. Don't put it off on him just because he was speaking.
When I was in the UPC - Pastors and National Leaders would have me fly in to raise money for their projects. I never counted the money, touched the money or saw any of the money. They would hand me an envelope as they let me off at the airport. I never knew what I would get night after night - week after week. I did have preachers slam me as "The Money Man" because I preached Faith for Finances and challenged people to give. THE PASTORS were the ones taking care of the finances - NOT ME - but I got the RAP of always being out for money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give Bishop Jakes a break - I have been to the Potter's House many times and have never paid a fee to get in!

I understand the process. Coliseum rental isn't cheap. I would pay $10.50 to hear TD Jakes any day of the week. I don't care if he charged to get into an event. I would pay $10 bucks to hear Lee Stoneking or Anthony Mangun. LS does various seminars which people pay to hear him speak. AM packs out Alexandria every year @ BOTT. The Bible says to whom much is given much is required. $10 is cheap compared to secular speakers. Wayne Dwyer and Stephen Covey charge thousands of dollars just to sit in the audience. At least one gets worship God @ a TD Jakes event.

That is True- I want to make that clear if I didn't. Jake's didnt charge to get in. It was put on by a local committee. Furthermore, He did not take up that monsterous offering. BUT, IMO, after being charged a ticket to get in service and after taking one monumental offering, i think we could have done without yet another
also, let's not forget that the UPC is charging $25 to get into services too

I didn't mind the 10.50 but that offering that Bloomer took was ridiculous. and a 2nd offering was too much
