I visited Christ Church in Nashville, was amazed and impressed, but didn't really see much that I thought would work in Crawford, Ga. Different atmosphere as to what "church" should be in Nashville and Crawford.

Use what works for you.

Those that sold on the temple grounds were not merely exchanging cattle for it's equivalent in gold. They were buying and selling and making a profit for themselves, not as a church fund raiser

Yes, fellowship halls , that is where fellowship belongs. It does not matter if someone wants coffee or not. Coffee should not be the reason we go to church.

nobody said coffee is the reason WE go to church, because WE are the church. There is no "only valid reason" for a sinner to "come to church" or to stand there on the street corner and listen to what you have to say. Fellowship Halls were not made for sinners. They are made for saints though do to the church's openess there is no reason a sinner can't be with us too

Maybe but I don't think that is the problem. There have been people getting the baptism of the Spirit with tongues in movements that did not even teach there was such a special infilling, but they emphasized prayer and seeking the Lord. They emphasized that repentance was not a momentary thought of contrition but involved deep felt emotions and tears and being on your face before God. They emphasized seeking God for a confirmation of your salvation...pray until something happened.

And though we might still emphasize seeking the baptism for sinners, what about the rest of that stuff for the entire church?

It's just a place for the people to congregate and get to know each other and for new people to assimilate before and after church. We don't allow people to bring the food/drinks into the sanctuary for service, and the coffee bar is closed during services.

I would not have a problem with the idea, but unfortunately things like this are becoming "attractive" points not for sinners but saints from "less cool" churches
