I agree. I have never heard anything good about that group.

They do believe that some non-anabaptists are/will be saved.
Your analysis is at least partilly correct, though I would disagree with them - concerning the stance on evangelism.

Re: Growing Up Mennonite
Ok, so now I am somewhat curious about this HH group, and I am going to draw a parallel, to further show my curiosity.
A couple years back, I came across the Rick Warren website, and I saw the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Plaster Rock, NB as a church on their "cult" list. I went to this church's website, and I was thoroughly impressed, by the move of GOD it looked like they were having on their video clips, by the way they kept to holiness and whatnot. So I contacted the McKillops and I was surprised again by their friendliness, and the Bishop, who oversees over 500 souls in PR, let alone the churches they fellowship, when his son Damon was buying a trailer in MA, they stopped by and we had lunch together. I later went to their camp, two of their conventions, and I stayed with them last New Year's for 10 days. I don't agree with everything they teach, but they are some of the friendliest people, and Bro. Coon put it best this past annual convention, "Plaster Rock is one of the best kept secrets in North America, I dare say in all of Pentecost!" Had I brushed them off as a cult, I would have never met these people, and I had people from my old UPC church (there was a couple that lived in northern Maine, prior to moving to MA) and they told me... "Oh, brother, don't go there, you won't like it. Those people never smile, and they're so strict, ect. ect..." But they didn't have a substantial reason for me to discredit what I had seen and experienced in Plaster Rock.
Now, my question is this- what is the issue with HH? Do they deny the rest of the Body of Christ (their apostolic brethren)? Do they hold to some wacky doctrine (ie. divine flesh, serpent seed, ect...)? Do they have weird practices that harm their people (ie. public beatings, public interrogations of church members, financial dishonesty, ect...)?
If HH said they were the only ones saved, then I'd say, "Ok, they're bad news." Or if they did something blantantly wrong, then ok. But if they have some stricter than usual standards, like, "No denim" or "No watches" or "No deodorant", then, ok, I don't agree, and those standards are a bit different and above and beyond the norm, but they're not big enough deals for people to separate from them.
If someone feels I should start my own thread, feel free to let me know, but I figured since this group has some Anabaptist connection (although it seems faint) then they're fair game to be discussed here...

Re: Growing Up Mennonite
This should be answerd in private not on this forum...there is a world of difference between plaster rock and HH...
Standards has nothing to do with it...

not today as I have company but just remind me and I will...However it is a cult in evey sence of the word in my opinion. I know them very well and have in the past spent much time with them and traveled with them...that does not mean all the people are bad or anything like that...you could be there years and NOT really know what they really believe...
Alex, we may or may not agree on everything but I can tell from your posts you are very sincere...SON, if I may call you that...stay away...

Alex, listen to Sis. Alvear. She has years of wisdom in her and has seen a little bit of everything under the sun. It's for your own protection.

Re: Growing Up Mennonite
The last three posts are a fine example of what makes AFF a great place!
We have a seasoned missionary woman in South America conversing with a zealous, young conservative and a middleage progressive (liberal ) and giving pertainent advice.
