Scholarship is not the first word that comes to mind.

Yea'....I have a few words that come to mind also, here, let's look at a few shall we:
Defiant
Rebellious to Biblical Principles

I didn't realize that you could discern the intents and motives of others hearts. Not just that but being able to do so through the internet? Impressive. We bow down.

Newman was never sent packing. The good Elder doesn't like to be confused by the facts. He's been called on it repeatedly, but continues to propogate the prevarication that Newman was chased out. I'm sure it's his perception, and in his mind, it's truth......just like most everything else he believes.

I concur.
Knowing Newman in the 'real' world of face to face interaction, truth be told, she no doubt has her reasons, which are her own to share or not share...she leads a busy life for starters.
But anyone who knows her, even in this realm, surely must know that Newman is her own girl...dances to her own beat.
Trust me...NO ONE could run her off if she chose to be here.
Respectfully I think Elder E thinks her silence is indicative of not having an answer. Wrong.
It may not be an answer I agree with, but again, trust me, Elder...Newman is NOT at a loss of a response.

Sabellus does very well presenting his views, but Newman always presented her views equally well. To say that he trumped her wouldn't be correct.
Newman's contention with his view on "long hair" is that Sabellus used commentary that states, "It may be necessary to reach outside of the Greek to define long as uncut."
Newman questioned that if Paul was speaking to Greek people, why would he reach outside the Greek to do that. I have some of that conversation printed out.
I enjoyed the exchange between them both.
