White Cop vs Black Scholar

Not sure if anyone's following this story. You can read the news reports below in my sources, as well as view the arrest report.

Noted foremost scholar on race in the US, Henry Gates Jr, was seen breaking into a home by a witness who called police. Police responded and now Sergeant James Crowley is not only having to fight this scholars claims of racism ... but our very own President BHO put his uninformed 2 cents into the mix last night by saying the white police officers acted stupidly.

Again, read the news links below. President BHO should apologize to this police officer for ignorantly siding with the scholar.

From all accounts, this officer is respected by both fellow white and black officers. This was also the officer who tried "desperately" to save the live of Boston Celtics basketball player Reggie Lewis (who was black). The officer gave CPR and tried saving this man's life. Unfortunately Lewis died.

Crowley, the officer, said Gates, the scholar, became angry and confrontational when approached by the police. Gates demanded names and badge numbers and yelled, "This is what happens to a black man in America," and "You don't know who you're messing with," before being arrested.

My take ... the "scholar" was right to be arrested. He did break into his own home, and after verifying it was his home, did he thank the officers for their vigilance? No, he went on a rant and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The officer didn't tase him. They didn't beat him down. From all reports, the arrest was by the books.

The President owes this officer an apology for stupidly making a statement on something he didn't know about.

The scholar needs to be put in check. He was looking for trouble after the officers came. He knew it was his chance to get more book deals and money from television interviews.

IMO, both the scholar and the President do disservice to true racism and race relations with their stupid and ignorant remarks.

Arrest Report

After reading the arrest report it looks like Gates acted inappropriately. If there were that many witnesses, I would think the report is fairly accurate.

FoxNews (FauxNews to some) has a link to Bill Cosby's reaction, but it's a video and I'm at work unable to view it. Could someone check it out and see what his reaction was?

From the news, it seems there was a growing audience at the scene, don't be surprised if a video surfaces.

I saw a snapshot of several cops and the criminal. The black cop was in front of the black perpretator. I wonder if this comes to trial and the cops find he is not going to win a civil judgement, if the black cop is black enough to witness against a black miscreant.

It was sad to hear the President defend tiller the Killer and ignore a man in uniform that was shot by a Muslim the next day.

Bill Ayers now calls Barack Obama a "neighbor and family friend." He also says the Weather Underground never killed or hurt anyone. This is a lie. The evidence shows that the Weather Underground did kill and maim.

Huh? When did the professor become the perpetrator and a miscreant? And please tell me why are you questioning the other black cop's character when he isnt even apart of this? What do you mean by if the black cop "is black enough"?

Not at all. In studying human behavior and the offshoots of sociology we examine these as in your case with prejudice. If someone wants to go the route of 'victumhood" they must early on establish a heirarchy of victumization. Ann coulter describes this very well. Example, Single moms are victums of dead beat dads. Stretch that into some cultural unfareness and then it goes into rights and society paying for the bad deeds that hurt a victum.

Now you just smeared me by reason of claiming I smeared the prof. Having been a prof and having hired and fired proffs, I am incredibly aware of the dynamics. I have been an employer of a black HARVARD Phd.
Be carefull. Expressing observation of human behavior is not defamation of character.

I visited Africa and found the northern states were Arabs. where my family owned and ran a school and ministry for 50 years.
South Africa is to a very large extent white. My NCAA tennis champ friend was from there. Are these professorial slots of a racial nature or cultural and geographic in design?
From my observations, these teaching slots are more about America and less about the fine continent of Africa and ALL of it's diverse peoples.

The police sergeant who arrested Harvard University Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. last week in his own home may be considering a defamation lawsuit against Gates who has implied his arrest was racially motivated

I suspect some claim he isn't qualified evah to be able to teach the following.

Alan McDonald, who represents Sgt. James Crowley, said the veteran cop who teaches a racial profiling class for rookie police officers has not ruled out filing a defamation of character or libel lawsuit.

You said a whole bunch of stuff, but you didnt answer my questions so i will ask you again:
1. You referred to the professor as a perpetrator and miscreant. When did the professor become the perpetrator and a miscreant?
2. why are you questioning the other black cop's character when he isnt even apart of this?

Race relations were not helped by the Presidents statements or the nutty professors allegation against the officer. Rather, they only serve to prove that in some cases the cry "racism" is well overstated and grossly misrepresented.

I'd rather not get into BHO and Bill Ayers. This is about the police officer and allegations of him being racist made by the scholar, Mr. Gates.

I hope the truth comes out, not matter what the truth is. Having said that Obama should have said what Bill Cosby said "I wasn't there"...that's right. None of us where there so all we can do is wait for all the evidence to be collected and looked at.
