That is a rank thought, and don't you ever say anything about the tones of my posts. What you said above is not cool. Hey no problem, I hope you enjoy yourself.

Is that what you think? Circle wagons and have churches built in the back yards of those who leave? You would like that?

You would really like to see conservative Apostolics take the deep six?

I'm going to try, but most of this is just going to be me laughing at the complete and utter absurdity of this... I mean... LETS MAKE FUN OF VEGGIETALES FOR NOT BEING LITERAL ENOUGH!!! (and let's not note the fact that the main characters of the show are TALKING VEGETABLES!!!!!!!!! I MEAN REALLY!!)

Quote:
You don't get it do you?
THEY'RE TALKING VEGETABLES!!!! TALKING VEGETABLES!!! SQUASHES, TOMATOES, PEAS, CARROTS, CUCUMBERS, AND THE OCCASIONAL FRUIT WHO SPEAK!!!!!!

They don't have arms, but they have superheroes, plates to break and lie about, slingshots to sling, fish to bash eachother in the head with, and tons of other things that MAKE NO SENSE!!!!

This show is NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!! It is meant to teach kids in a humorous, silly way the basics of Bible stories and NT principles... The fact that you are seriously ripping on it this seriously shows that either you are a troll who is just here to annoy people or that you are seriously a sad, pathetic person with way too much time on your hands... I mean... seriously... THEY'RE TALKING VEGETABLES!!!

What next? are you going to complain because Nebuchanezzer & Goliath were played by the same vegetable???

Quote:
Talk about Jesus? Or teach Jesus? Muslims talk about Jesus, they don't teach Jesus. Jews can talk about Jesus but they don't teach Jesus.
They teach about Jesus as much as you can in a 30 minute cartoon that does absolutely nothing but tell the story of David with a silly song interlude in the middle...

Quote:
Oh, is this what we can expect from the new Pentecostal programming that is on the horizon?
If its aimed at 3 years olds??? Hopefully it can be half as good as Veggietales...

If its aimed at adults?? It will probably be a little more correct in its telling of the stories and be a smidge more "preachy" rather than "silly" since, ya know, the people watching it are assumed to have gone to school past Kindergarden...

Quote:
What part of the Bible? Would it happen to be the New Testament? Could you name how many New Testament stories veggi tales teaches from?
So now only the New Testament is valid??? lol

And as far as I know they haven't told one story from the New Testament, although they have done a number of "new" stories based upon New Testament Principles ("I Can Be Your Friend", all the Larry Boy cartoons, the monster one, Madamme Blueberry, etc., etc., etc.)

Seriously, they have yet to do any stories of Jesus (I think it is probably because they don't want to pick a character to play Jesus, nor do they want to make Jesus silly, and they make every story silly... They turn Babylon into a chocolate factory where everyone "loves the bunny" (chocolate bunny) instead of what it really is and rename Shadrach, Meeshach, & Abendego "Rack, Shack, & Benny" (they do state thier full names, though))

Quote:
So, they are not looking to lead any to salvation? Then it is... USELESS.
Seriously, you need to get off this "everything is useless if someone doesn't get converted by it"... There is a lot more to this life than just converting people...

Let's just look at the New Testament... 4 books tell the Story of Christ's earthhly ministry...

1 book documents the history of the early church...

1 book is prophetic...

and 21 books are about living the life of a Christian and contain directions on how to live for God AFTER conversion...

You are ignoring most of the Bible, brother, and it isn't healthy... not for your spiritual walk or the spiritual walk of any who follow you... You are teaching a shallow gospel...

Besides, like I said, Veggietales are aimed at little kids... There are 2 issues with aiming the show at young children:

1. you can't be too preachy or you will make parents not allow thier kids to watch it because they don't agree with some part of your doctrine...

2. most of your audience isn't old enough to fully understand what is going on...

This is about getting a foundation of the stories in the Bible into these kids in entertaining ways, teaching them not to lie, to love thier neighbor, and to trust in God... There is more to teaching Christ than bashing baptism into thier skulls...

Quote:
They are doing nothing, and God will use the preacher to win souls, not falsehoods.
Other than thier silly editing of the stories so they are appropriate for 5 year olds, please show me one thing in Veggietales that is a "falsehood"...

Seriously, bro, ripping on Veggietales is the height of pathetic... Like I said, I'm starting to think you are either a troll or not worth anyone's time responding to you... If I were able to sleep and not bored out of my mind, I wouldn't even be responding to you right now...

Quote:
What? Since God is Jesus? Do they tell children that God is Jesus? Answer me this do they ever say the NAME JESUS?
Yes, they say the name is Jesus, and explicitly saying "Jesus is God"? I'm not sure, but then again there is only so theologically deep you can get in a show aimed at little kids... They pray to Jesus, they say "Jesus loves you" and all that stuff and I would say its pretty obvious taht they are saying Jesus is God...

But, hey, you're looking for fault in a cartoon with TALKING VEGETABLES!!! So its not like logic is going to matter here...

Quote:
Then it's cheaper in Po Dunk? You mean you need a television to reach people in Mud Lick?
I don't live in "po dunk" or "mud lick", but thanks for asking...

I find it hilarious how you are so quick to insult other people and where they live...

Quote:
What happened to the five bucks? Now it's expensive? You guys can't make up your minds.
look up the word "relative" in the dictionary... get back to me when you understand what it means...

Quote:
Oh Brother!
If a great revival doesn't happen because of TV, then it doesn't and we find another way to have revival... I think that there will be souls saved through this.. But the point is that there is no logical reason not to use TV to advertise... I mean, look at all the people that those fakes on channels like TBN can touch, now imagine what the real power of God can do....

Quote:
"Yeah, you will see Evang.Benincasa, we won, and now we are going to bring Pentecostals into every living room maybe right after Saturday Night Live, or after re-runs of YO MTV RAPS."

It's a scary thought but I will await the progress reports of mega revival.
first of all, I'm pretty sure "Yo MTV Raps" isn't on TV anymore... at all... anywhere... lol

and secondly, those are horrible timeslots... I say we aim for the spot after Heroes, Lost, ER, The Office, or Desperate Housewives... Those shows get killer ratings... imagine if we had a lead-in audience of 60 million people to a sermon by Bro. Arnold or Bro. Mangun (hope I spelled that right)... That would be awesome...

Quote:
That is a rank thought, and don't you ever say anything about the tones of my posts. What you said above is not cool. Hey no problem, I hope you enjoy yourself.
pot, meet kettle...

you reap what you sew, bro... the attitude you give everyone else around here will, eventually, be given back to you... you are starting to see that happen...

I said that is what is going to happen. It's just the truth. With UPC pastors pulling out of the UPC there is no reason for a current UPC minster to start churches in their backyards. Before hand if a licensed minister was going to start a church they had to get approval and it could not be close to where the other UPC was.

Now they are leaving there is no reason for the UPC to NOT plant another church in the same town the EX-UPC church is....

I stated what I would like before. Now I am stating what I think will happen

No, lets call it as we see it, it's just stupid humor that won't convert one soul.

That is why it's useless tripe to pick the pockets of the adults, while the adults think their children are learning something.

Just Old Testament huh? I wonder who would benefit from just OT stories?

Was that David or did you say Jesus? Where is Jesus in Veggie Tales?

The New completes the Old and the New is the fulfillment. Jesus said that they were to search the OT to find Him. Are they teaching Jesus?

Sorry that's not about Jesus Christ, but about good deeds, and bravery, you're losing your case.

I guess that's why you don't have any Bible studies with non-Christians, how many people are you working to bring to the Acts 2:38 message?

So why go on Television if not to convert people to the Truth? You need to think before you type. You are killing your argument.

This post is not worth it, and it will take up two posts to answer it.

Listen to this...

Your wrong.

Real nice, well, well, well there you go guys and gals you were always open game and your people are ripe for the pickings. I guess this may get ugly before it's all over. Prax have you ever started a church or had a home mission? Where you or are you currently an evangelist?

Praxs can't wait to get the party started.
