I'm going to try, but most of this is just going to be me laughing at the complete and utter absurdity of this... I mean... LETS MAKE FUN OF VEGGIETALES FOR NOT BEING LITERAL ENOUGH!!! (and let's not note the fact that the main characters of the show are TALKING VEGETABLES!!!!!!!!! I MEAN REALLY!!)
THEY'RE TALKING VEGETABLES!!!! TALKING VEGETABLES!!! SQUASHES, TOMATOES, PEAS, CARROTS, CUCUMBERS, AND THE OCCASIONAL FRUIT WHO SPEAK!!!!!!
They don't have arms, but they have superheroes, plates to break and lie about, slingshots to sling, fish to bash eachother in the head with, and tons of other things that MAKE NO SENSE!!!!
This show is NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY!! It is meant to teach kids in a humorous, silly way the basics of Bible stories and NT principles... The fact that you are seriously ripping on it this seriously shows that either you are a troll who is just here to annoy people or that you are seriously a sad, pathetic person with way too much time on your hands... I mean... seriously... THEY'RE TALKING VEGETABLES!!!
What next? are you going to complain because Nebuchanezzer & Goliath were played by the same vegetable???

If its aimed at adults?? It will probably be a little more correct in its telling of the stories and be a smidge more "preachy" rather than "silly" since, ya know, the people watching it are assumed to have gone to school past Kindergarden...

And as far as I know they haven't told one story from the New Testament, although they have done a number of "new" stories based upon New Testament Principles ("I Can Be Your Friend", all the Larry Boy cartoons, the monster one, Madamme Blueberry, etc., etc., etc.)
Seriously, they have yet to do any stories of Jesus (I think it is probably because they don't want to pick a character to play Jesus, nor do they want to make Jesus silly, and they make every story silly... They turn Babylon into a chocolate factory where everyone "loves the bunny" (chocolate bunny) instead of what it really is and rename Shadrach, Meeshach, & Abendego "Rack, Shack, & Benny" (they do state thier full names, though))

Let's just look at the New Testament... 4 books tell the Story of Christ's earthhly ministry...
1 book documents the history of the early church...
1 book is prophetic...
and 21 books are about living the life of a Christian and contain directions on how to live for God AFTER conversion...
You are ignoring most of the Bible, brother, and it isn't healthy... not for your spiritual walk or the spiritual walk of any who follow you... You are teaching a shallow gospel...
Besides, like I said, Veggietales are aimed at little kids... There are 2 issues with aiming the show at young children:
1. you can't be too preachy or you will make parents not allow thier kids to watch it because they don't agree with some part of your doctrine...
2. most of your audience isn't old enough to fully understand what is going on...
This is about getting a foundation of the stories in the Bible into these kids in entertaining ways, teaching them not to lie, to love thier neighbor, and to trust in God... There is more to teaching Christ than bashing baptism into thier skulls...

Yes, they say the name is Jesus, and explicitly saying "Jesus is God"? I'm not sure, but then again there is only so theologically deep you can get in a show aimed at little kids... They pray to Jesus, they say "Jesus loves you" and all that stuff and I would say its pretty obvious taht they are saying Jesus is God...

If a great revival doesn't happen because of TV, then it doesn't and we find another way to have revival... I think that there will be souls saved through this.. But the point is that there is no logical reason not to use TV to advertise... I mean, look at all the people that those fakes on channels like TBN can touch, now imagine what the real power of God can do....

first of all, I'm pretty sure "Yo MTV Raps" isn't on TV anymore... at all... anywhere... lol
and secondly, those are horrible timeslots... I say we aim for the spot after Heroes, Lost, ER, The Office, or Desperate Housewives... Those shows get killer ratings... imagine if we had a lead-in audience of 60 million people to a sermon by Bro. Arnold or Bro. Mangun (hope I spelled that right)... That would be awesome...

I said that is what is going to happen. It's just the truth. With UPC pastors pulling out of the UPC there is no reason for a current UPC minster to start churches in their backyards. Before hand if a licensed minister was going to start a church they had to get approval and it could not be close to where the other UPC was.
Now they are leaving there is no reason for the UPC to NOT plant another church in the same town the EX-UPC church is....

The New completes the Old and the New is the fulfillment. Jesus said that they were to search the OT to find Him. Are they teaching Jesus?
