I'm for strengthening enforcement at the boarders and streamlining the immigration process. It's a two pronged approach. Texas did it and it's worked fine for them.
My case is that those here can be legalized and allowed to become part of the legal economy.

Now your talking sensibly I think the security has to come first though, or else it could cause a flood of immigrants to come upon hearing they can gain citizenship so easily. I'm not against having leinency on those already here, but I'm for preventitive measures first. I'm also not against a reformed immigration process, but there are still only so many immigrants we can allow in every year. And I think no matter how many we can allow, I think the number wanting to come in is greater.

Re: Your answer to illegal immigration.
Wow I am surprised that a christian would condone killing when Thou shalt not kill is one of the ten commandments. Its pretty sad when the political view of being American overrides the Christian view of being Christlike.

Here in the West we see many illegals, and have seen many of them come to God and receive salvation.
From a Christian standpoint what do you think should be done about the problem, understanding that if they had not swam the river illegally, many of them in our churches would not be saved today!
How do we balance this problem out from a Christian standpoint?
Just some thoughts on the matter!

Send everyone whose parents or grandparents were not welcome by those already here back where they came from. We have to be fair to everyone, too, so the law should be retroactive. Everyone that has an ancestry from overseas, back, oh, at least 5-6 generations, should go back where they came from if they were unwelcome when they arrived. Too bad for them... and the deciding panel for who should go or stay should consist of Native Americans, BTW.

Re: Your answer to illegal immigration.
Really, the problem of immigration in America may resolve itself. With an economy in crisis, America has become less appealing.
In reality, the borders are a problem, but I seriously doubt the problem of immigration will ever be solved in a way that is satisfactory to everyone. Border patrol isn't the answer (reminds me of the iron curtain), and those that come can get jobs because some employers want cheap labor and others are concerned about ACLU lawsuits. We need to change several of our laws. We should positively reinforce businesses that hire those who are here legally, rather than penalizing them. And we should stop tax evasion by employers who hire illegals or who send a significant amount of business overseas (which is a bigger problem than immigration).

Re: Your answer to illegal immigration.
Put a real border up armed by soldiers, add a mind field as well. Immigration problem solved.

Berlin wall divided A COUNTRY. We would not be dividing a country but protecting it.
