The Lord Moves In Mysterious Ways!

I was kinda sorta offered a job this weekend! Let me start at the beginning even though I am sure most of you know my history with my job. I'll try to keep it as short as possible.

I started my current job 3 years ago. I hated it from day 1 (pretty much) it was a BORING job and I had nothing to do half of the time. The people I work with are negative and do nothing but sit around and gripe and complain all day long (like they are doing right now ). I prayed and BEGGED God to get me a different job and I applied for NUMEROUS jobs at our local hospital because they pay well and have good insurance. I applied and applied and got nowhere all the while hating my job more and more.

Well, I started feeling like God was trying to teach me that I needed to be content with what I had, no matter what! So, I started thinking of all the positive things about my job - every morning! And then i started praying for God to give me a love for my job. A year later here I am LOVING my job!!! Loving my work place, getting more and more involved here with all the "extras" and I couldn't be happier other than needing more money desperately!!!!!!!!!

Well, Saturday we were eating lunch with my husbands boss and his wife (who go to our church) and out of the blue his boss asked me if I would be interested in taking over the secretary position at the hospital in his department!!!! Starting in July I was so shocked I didn't know what to say at first!!!! But it would be WAY more money (an extra $240 each paycheck) and better hours and I would be able to move up quicker there or even go part time some day if I wanted. They also have excellent benefits!! We also have a brand new hospital that is BEAUTIFUL!

I would have to go through the application/interview process but he said if I want the job it is most likely mine, he would just have to talk to his boss about it (and he has gotten on a TON of people doing this).

So, I told him I would think about it - I am weighing all the pros and cons and praying about it. I really do love my job here especially with all the changes happening but I know I would probably love it there too! I'm so torn right now but money sometimes does talk!!! LoL!

Unfortunately, no, we don't qualify for any financial aid so far. According to the FAFSA we make just a touch too much. Geesh! I wish they took into account the fact that we had a major incident recently (Walt's aneurism) that about wiped out any extra funds we had built up. I'm grateful that all of the bills from the aneurism are completely paid off, but at the same time, we're really having to scramble now to build our nest egg back up so we can eventually someday retire.

We live in Fulton County, so we're not on your in state list. I looked at your tuition costs earlier, but I'm guessing those were in state costs.

Do you have student housing? I didn't see a link for that anywhere?
Margie, I just read this, but I have a suggestion. If you haven't already, talk the the financial aid department of the school of your son's choice and explain the situation. They have the ability to override the numbers that come back on your SAR. If you have qualifying circumstances that aren't reflected on your FAFSA, alot of them will work with you to get more financial aid for your child.

Tabitha has attended Lee University two years and they revised hers both years. She is transferring to Lambuth University in Jackson, TN for her remaining time and the financial office there is working on her financial aid report. My husband has not worked since November, due to his accident. That info does not come up when you fill out FAFSA and they go by your W-2forms from the previous year, but you are paying for college from the current year's wages.

It would be worth a shot to check with some of them to see what they can do for you.

QE- Sounds like a great opportunity is opening up for you. Talk to some of the people that already work at that job, and find out how they like it. I know you will make to right decision.

Tamor,

thanks for the suggestion. I really appreciate it! I will contact the people at Shawnee State University to see what they can do! Our biggest "extenuating circumstances" involve the hospital bills we had after Walt's incident and how we basically drained our savings in order to survive during that time.

QE, congratulations on the job possibility. I'll be praying for God to guide you and make His will abundantly clear.

Re: Gabby's

These eggs are so pretty! I saw them in a gift shop intending to purchase them for my mother, but alas, I cannot part with them. Aren't they cute?

I love unusual things. I wonder who will dust those eggs later on?
