Re: Ray Boltz????

Don't know as if it's been said yet but a person who accepts their sinful condition as the way God made them and believes they are extended grace and mercy to live their lifestyle I wouldn't think would feel it was a struggle any longer... therefor they don't or wouldn't need God's forgiveness or grace because they have believed their sin is not sin...

He's not dealing with his sin struggle. He's justifying it. Big difference. Got the T-shirt. Honestly, it's not an easy route. But it does get easier. Key is to give the burden to Jesus. We were never meant to carry these kind of loads. I can that today I am not who I was a yr ago.
So you think it's more he's given up ...?

Do you think being filled with Holy Ghost will automatically equate in being cured from the sin giant in one's life?

Dan, I do believe there a time in life when one does get to a place in their walk and sin itself no longer seem to be an issues, like it was when your younger. Maybe it has more to with age or Jesus inside of us. Not really sure, my folks are not church goers, but I can say they are godly, more so then some people I know who claim they are.
I think a lot of it has to do with the strengthening one's relationship with, and in, Him ... a lot of it also has to do with the Word being likened to seed in our lives ... it must germinate ... grow ... and blossom.

Then there are times that he must prune us ... even burn what is not pleasing.

We will show His fruit as long as we are grafted in Him

Yeah, he has given up.

I don't know what to say about the Holy Ghost automatically curing the sin giant. The Corinthian church had a member that took his fathers' wife.
Through the yrs I have seen many people fall to many things. I've discussed the topic of fornication with a friend and he admitted that the desire/struggle never leaves.

On the other side, I know people who were delivered from everything, drugs to immorality to never desire those things again.

Speaking from my own experiences, I know without a shadow of doubt that God gave me victory several times.
Thing is, I wanted to return to the sin. I played around a time too many, or so it seems.

As time went on, I felt less and less conviction. Sure, I knew in my heart that I was sinning -but conviction was not there. I had several of that lifestyle tell me "...this isn't who you are..." "...you're not ---"
The "ex" who wasn't an ex at the time told me "...go back to church, I know that's what you want." Also "you're not ---" as the others have said before.

What it came down to at the end of the relationship was me saying something like "I think I revert back to this because I don't want to answer the calling..." or something like that.

I probably said too much.

We can learn a lot from your transparency Berk ... me most.

I agree he's given up and what we hear now is a lot of rationalizations ...

I firmly believe that he was divinely inspired in many of the songs he wrote ... and was living an upright and repentant life when they were actually penned ....

We got the VICTORY ... in JESUS!!!! OUR MIGHTY CONQUEROR!!!

Dan, I read the beginning of this thread and the last few pages, so I don't know if this question has answered.

Is the confession a real one? The source was wiki? Can that be trusted?

Absolutely reliable ... it's based on his Washington Blade interview ... I quoted parts of it in my exchange w/ Jekyll.

In the meantime I googled him and went to rayboltz.com, on his home page he "almost" outs himself and announces upcoming dates, singing at two MCC "churches." That is about a reliable as anyone would need.

An interesting discussion for sure ... I just don't subscribe to the instant sanctification ... some seem to espouse here on the forum.
It is never instant sanctification, for sure.
