We dont have to defend anything.
Heres how it works coadie: You're the one condemning it as being wrong in the sight of God.
If you have rules against it, you should have biblical basis for that.
And the fact is you have none.
Your aguments are tired. Stop beating this dead horse.
If you cant come with scriptures, you're just showing your argument is not scripturally based.

This is speaking of Esther:
5Now there was a Jew in Susa the citadel whose name was(E) Mordecai, the son of Jair, son of Shimei, son of Kish, a Benjaminite, 6(F) who had been carried away from Jerusalem among the captives carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away. 7He was bringing up Hadassah, that is Esther,(G) the daughter of his uncle, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman had a beautiful figure and was lovely to look at, and when her father and her mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter. 8So when the king’s order and his edict were proclaimed, and(H) when many young women were gathered in Susa the citadel in custody of(I) Hegai, Esther also was taken into the king’s palace and put in custody of Hegai, who had charge of the women. 9And the young woman pleased him and won his favor. And he quickly provided her(J) with her cosmetics and her portion of food, and with seven chosen young women from the king’s palace, and advanced her and her young women to the best place in the harem.

The first archaeological evidence of cosmetics usage is found in Ancient Egypt around 4000 BC.[citation needed] The Ancient Greeks and Romans also used cosmetics.[citation needed] The Romans and Ancient Egyptians, not realizing their dangerous properties, used cosmetics containing mercury and white lead.[citation needed] Fragrances, particularly frankincense and myrrh are mentioned in the Christian Bible: Exodus 30: 34, Gospel of Matthew 2:11. Ancient Egyptians had a wide extent of make-up utensils. One of them is kohl, which was used to outline the eyes. It is made up of lead, copper, burned almonds, soot, and other ingredients. It was believed that eye make-up could ward off evil spirits and improve the sight. Even the poor wore eye make-up in ancient Egypt. The production of cosmetics during ancient Rome was usually done by female slaves called Cosmetae.[1]

Cosmetics were used in Persia and what is today the Middle East from ancient periods.[citation needed] After Arab tribes converted to Islam and conquered those areas, in some areas cosmetics were only restricted if they were to disguise the real look in order to mislead or cause uncontrolled desire.[citation needed] On the other hand, some fundamentalist branches of Islam forbid the use of cosmetics.

Archaeology has the egyptians all painted up.
Indians did it for ceremonial events.
It looks like we need to examine history if the bible didn't show the intro to war paint 101.

I am very happy for you that you can see the role TS has played in this thread as just a guy wanting to explore a topic.
He started with the "wanton eyes" angle, not cosmetics. At some point he found a more fun horse to ride and saddled up.

I started with wanton eyes because some believe wanton eyes means paineted eyes.

You can't really use that translation in support of make-up per se. The KJV speaks of speedily giving her things for her "purification". That would include perfumery and soap as the word lends itself to mean "scouring".

I got my man just fine without makeup. As a matter of fact, he doesn't care for makeup.

Yes, I can honestly see him as someone asking a sincere question. If you've heard the 'wanton eyes' scripture used to preach against makeup, and then one day it dawns on you that it might not really mean that.... then you might be interested in what others think it means.
I see no reason to think the worst of people because they have honest questions.
And Coadie has consistently avoided all requests to provide a scripture to back up his claim that the Bible condemns makeup. That's why the repeated requests.

It would be historically correct to say that makeup came from the 1st Dynasty in Egypt.
