Re: Homosexuality question

Notice... they say that Jesus never talked about homosexuality. However, I tend to disagree...
Matthew 10:14-15 English Standard Version (ESV)
14 And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. 15 Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.

Matthew 11:21-24 English Standard Version (ESV)
21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”

Luke 10:10-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.
Based on Christ's own words... it will be more bearable for a city of unrepentant homosexuals in the day of judgment than it will be for a people full of religious arrogance and pride.

Really, Aquila? Is it more tolerable for the homosexual man because he experienced Acts 238?

The baptist preacher who lived a life devoted to God gets less mercy because he's a trinitarian?

It's not so much that the Baptist is a Trinitarian (although Trinitarianism is a gross distortion of who God is). It's that this specific Baptist in my example believes that tongues are of the devil. That's one of the greatest forms of blasphemy.
Matthew 12:31-32 (ESV)
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Based on this text... homosexuality can be forgiven before blasphemy of the Holy Spirit can ever be forgiven.

A transgendered porn star would have a greater chance at making Heaven than a Baptist pastor who believes that tongues are of the devil.

I won't even ask "really"...I already know that answer. *sigh*

Consider carefully what you're willing to be absolutely right about. Some things just aren't that important.

Seems to me that our chances of "making heaven" are pretty equal. I'll just call this attitude as I see it. The attitude that you're "righter" than everyone and anyone else is pure arrogance. Where do you find time to be so sure of yourself when you're in full pursuit of God in your own life and spending time studying to discover how God desires you to live?

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message

Perhaps I should have said... a transgendered porn star has a greater chance of making it to Heaven than a... Pharisee.

Blaming pentecostal theatrics on God isn't blasphemy?

This place IS hilarious. God saved the baptist knowing that he would most likely remain a cessationist.

So you don't believe that ridiculing the manifestation of the Holy Ghost, calling it the devil is blasphemy.

... are you giving excuse for blasphemy to condemn a contrite homosexual?

They're not ridiculing the manifestation of the Holy Ghost. They just don't believe that he manifests today as in acts. Many would accept a biblical manifestation (real languages) but all they've seen is "Shanabababa."

Are they linguistic experts who can determine if "Shanabababa." is an actual word in some world language. Let me remind you that there are thousands of languages in the world, not just English.
