He taught that these "holy" people would be in the rapture. He taught that the "righteous" were those who walked in all the light they had. These would be resurrected at the second resurrection or white throne judgment and, if they lived up to all the light they had, they would have eternal life on the new earth "wherein dwelleth righteousness." He also taught that the wicked were sinners who did not attempt to serve God and they would go into the lake of fire at the great white throne judgment.

I heard him teach this.

How many preachers in the UPC have sat under Bro. Norris and received this teaching? It has permeated the UPC.
My father attended ABI under Norris in the mid 50s. I'm going to ask him about this.

The problem is that too many people do not know how to define the gospel: and
many preach the gospel on the limited understanding that they have. This has caused
a great deal of confusion on the part of those who would obey. "But I fear, lest by any
means, as the serpent beguiled Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted
from the simplicity that is in Christ."

We must understand that it is surely the gospel that saves; but it is the rejection
of the gospel that condemns! "For God sent not his son into the world to condemn
the world...And this is the condemnation, that men loved darkness rather than light
because their deeds were evil."

God places the preachers of righteousness, but gives man the POWER to either obey or
disobey. Some willingly seek the easy way, and will then blame God and his preachers for
their lost condition; others will be deceived; but some, saved.

Re: KH believes the Light Doctrine??

We all get different levels of the light, some more some less.
No one has perfect light, everyone gets enough light to find their way to Jesus.
There is not one person or organization that has all the light of the knowledge of God.

some churches have more light than others.

if having perfect light is what is required to make it, then no one will make it.

except for Sean for according to him, he has perfect understanding of all doctrines.

I operate on the assumption that I am always wrong about something.

I see through a glass darkly.

And I, as well.

Jesus is TRUTH. John wrote that Jesus is the TRUTH, the LIGHT, and the WAY. I follow Jesus, who is truth, and trust that he will lead me into all truth through my faith in Him. I know I have much to learn, therefore I do not claim to know or understand it all, and yes... we all see through a glass darkly. We see shadows and think we understand it all. We see in part, and for now the glass is dark. I look forward to the eternal day with no shadows when all shall be seen and known clearly!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Acts 16:29-31

29 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.

30 And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

I believe we are all responsible for the light we have, as well as for the
light we reject. There will be a time when the Lord will declare that any
who are righteous, will be righteous; and any who are dirty will remain so. Until
that time, we remain responsible for what we receive, and what we reject.

The jailer called for a light, and saw the men who could proclaim truth to him.
Even so, those who call for the "light" will be shown the way of salvation: "For
whosoever shall call upon the NAME of the Lord shall be saved."
