Surprisingly, it was my personal experience that the bolded statement was not enough for me to enjoy a healthy Christian life. I had to go beyond forgiving those by whom I felt I was wounded to the point of asking them to forgive me for having allowed bitterness to rule my heart and world for such a period of time. It was upon receipt of their forgiveness that I truly began to go beyond healing to wholeness!
