Re: Do you still say Grace before you eat????

We always thank God for the food, and try to remember to ask Him to sanctify it nowadays!!! Especially when we are anywhere overseas.

I will admit that sometimes we don't pray until after the chips or bread is eaten, when the "real" food gets to us. Why is that?

Really?? We don't throw the sex word around in front of our young children - even joking.

Whether it is a loud showy "prayer" that the whole restaurant hears that some in-laws like to give, or a silent "Thank you!" said inwardly, I always like to give thanks. On occasion, I forget! But when I realize it, I usually follow up with a "sorry".

Re: Do you still say Grace before you eat????

Reminds me of the Norman Rockwell picture...lady and I think a boy sitting at the table bowing heads to say grace and a few people looking at them, perhaps wondering what they were doing.

I say grace before I eat, because I am thankful the Lord has blessed me with good food to eat and enjoy!

Re: Do you still say Grace before you eat????

As to asking a blessing on the food yes we do in our home and most always when we eat out.

I am, however, appalled by people trying to cause a scene with loud prayers or trying to preach and/or "witness" through their praying... so I will often wisper silent thanks instead.

Also, sometimes when getting a sandwich on the run I do not specificly ask a blessing - but I am always thankful.

I usually say,"Bless the beautiful hands that prepared it." I might surprise Mrs. Pianoman and say "sexy hands" once to see if she notices!

I had a friend that said he and his wife prayed for the food in the bags when they brought them in the the grocery store.

We hold hands, and I will ask a blessing or assign/ask someone.

Re: Do you still say Grace before you eat????

I think christians should give thanks before a meal BUT we don´t have to pray through or get the attention of every table around...I have been with some that they seemed that was their purpose...
