"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

"His struggles and cries are ignored ... the man with the knife shows no emotion ... the victim is slaughtered and his head cut off ... his flesh is eaten," reads the ad posted on the PETA site.

"If this ad leaves a bad taste in your mouth, please give a thought to what sensitive animals think and feel when they come to the end of their frightening journey and see, hear and smell the slaughterhouse," it says...."

Re: PETA...

If God didn't want people to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

Re: PETA...

I am not a fan of PETA in any way, but I do think it's pretty sick what some people will do to their animals. Every now and then I watch those animal police programs, and I get disgusted when I see what happens to people's pets when they starve them or don't take them for treatment. If you're going to have a pet, TAKE CARE OF IT!

You know, what you say is true, but then on the other hand, how does a person abusing an animal even begin to compare to this.........

Re: PETA...

What PETA is doing is wrong, and it's misguided affection. If I am correct, they are pro-animal rights, while also being pro-choice.

But when I come across PETA stuff I (how's this for ironic), eat the meat and spit out the bones... Animals are ours to have for food and to have dominion over, NOT to abuse. GOD told us to be merciful to animals, and HE gave us a way of slaughtering them, which is much different than what goes on in most slaughterhouses. Brethren, please consider kosher or organic meat options, should the LORD so remind you, to help counteract the cruel methods of slaughtering these animals.

GOD BLESS!
Bro. Alex

I don't live in Bleeding Heart, USA. They don't play those commercials here.

You know, I don't have a microwave, so if I do much more laughing, Bambi is going to get cold, and I will have to reheat him the hard way!

Those "animal police" programs are part of the media's left wing agenda. They want you to "feel" for these animals. This will help society sympathize with left wing fascist groups like PETA. Truth be told...the Constitution doesn't grant powers to the government to "protect animals". In fact, it isn't the "government's" responsibility to protect animals. The very idea is theft. If I pay money for an animal...it's mine to tenderize, bake, grind, deep fry, and boil. When the government steps in and "protects" an animal that belongs to a person they are seizing PRIVATE PROPERTY! DOWN WITH "ANIMAL COPS"!

I say....
