Re: Steve Munsey History
Steve was the hot evangelist for UPC when I was at JCM. He always had a flair for the dramatic. He was very into theatrical stuff, even back then before it was popular in the church. I remember a message he preached when we were on Chorale Tour up in Indiana.
His brother Phil married a friend of mine from Bible College - Jeanie Coffey.

We pastored in Indiana and knew Elder Bro & Sis. Munsey. They are good people. I think Jeannie married the better catch of the two sons. It was so good to hear her sing again on the Reunion DVD. She and GLG were so mismatched but that is who I remember her with back in the day.
Just a side note: SM turns my stomach when he gets up and begs for money. The combination of he and PW soliciting money on TBN makes my skin crawl. Why do people humiliate themselves so?

Because they are driven by greed.
Something about them starting out loving people and using money and some where along their walk they begin to love money and use people.

Wow, that's a scary statement. Something we should all think about.

The Coffey family went to a church my dad pastored in Huntington Beach for a while in the 70's. Jeanie was there part of the time, I think her mother died while we there, or around that time. We stayed in touch a long time after that, in fact Phil preached my high school graduation service (back when we had a Christian School). He was my favorite preacher at the time.

Phil is still a great preacher. I enjoy listening to him.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply he wasn't, I just haven't heard him in years. He used to do the Preachers Kids retreats that we had out here, and he was really good with us, I remember him helping me a lot.

I hadn't heard about that. Is it good? What's the name of it?
