You know, someone cited the safety of the children at public school. Do you they think they go to private school without bodyguards? Three or four Secret Service agents sitting in class with Obama's girls would provide plenty of safety along with a security detail located at the school. Shoot, it would probably elevate the quality of education for the kids in that school and all would benefit.

I understand your point.
If I was a parent, I'd do all I could to provide the best I can for my family.
With that in mind, what would you do in his case?

I agree, but logically I know there are more things to think about than security.

If Obama is trying to get health care for everyone, something that I think this country needs. He will of course continue to support public education.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Well of course. All the more reason to grant choice to everyone else. But it wont happen. The teachers unions have the Dems by the proverbial family jewels, and he will not be able to betray the loyalty they demand. There's a lot of campaign money at stake here.

Obama will play by the rules.

Typical right wing rederick.
Any one that will put their politics aside and use reason would know this is not about where they go to school, it's about security.

It runs a little deeper than security, IMO, considering the lip service being paid to the public school system. You don't hear the liberals talk about issuing school vouchers. Obama is against them.
His children get school choice, but not the normal American citizen! The school system keeps turning out kids graduating who lack self-discipline and not having the basic knowledge of math and reading skills.
Yet, you can bank your bottom dollar that their kids won't be enrolled in the Washington D.C school system.
Obama's stance against school vouchers is a clear indication that he intends to do nothing about the failures in our public school system, but he will take care of his children, sure!
On top of that the demographics show an increase in the Spanish population in this country. Unless they rise up in the job sector, which takes them years, they will vote Democratic. That clearly indicates to me a Socialist agenda at best - keep them poor and stupid and you have a party!

I agree that the No Child Left Behind was a good concept, but it didn't do what it was supposed to do.
However, you have overlooked that Bush pushed for Congress to authorize "Pell Grants for Kids" during his 7th annual State of the Union Address earlier this year. The program would have allowed students in the lower performing schools to transfer to faith-based and other non-public schools.
McCain was for vouchers, which I happen to think is necessary for competition among schools and Obama spoke against them. You can view that on the last debate they had together. I believe it was on the last debate.

Re: Will Obama Support Public Education or Go Priv
Lets be serious here on this subject. If you think there is no class system in America you're nuts. People that can afford it, the wealthy, famous, politicians, etc. send their kids to private school. The rest of us have the alternative of home school or public education. Did Obama's children go to public school or private school in Chicago?
