Re: Is This Woman Modest?
I felt like I looked like that with mine, but I probably didn't. That belly will NEVER recover!!!! After about 7 months, I didn't allow any pictures - even with full clothing.

Wow, we had some large babies, but that is one huge belly. I don't know about modest, but that certainly lacks moderation.

Did the state pay for this woman to have ivf? I'm a little confused. Can just anyone go to their state, even if they're dirt poor and demand the state pay for ivf?
Maybe she told the doctor she would pay him when she became famous, hah!

I don't know that the government paid for the invitro.
She received some unemployment/disability benefits - people are concerned about that, and folks also assume she will be on the dole to support them in the future.

Even if she was....the maximum dollar amount is like $380 a month. And you can't earn a dime more yourself to qualify. So exactly what is the concern?
I do think CA has some state programs, but I'm not too familiar with those. Just the federal ones.

Re: Is This Woman Modest?
No doubt, it was a less than prudent choice for this mother and her doctors.
But the fact is, I am much more fearful of a government, that might screen and qualify potential parents, than I am of a woman choosing to have eight babies.
The irony is, had this same mother had went from "stupid" to "murderer", by killing off six of the fetuses in selective abortions, most would not think it strange or bizarre that she would be a serial killer of her own babies.

That is very ironic...

I don't think it's any of the government's business, but I question the doctor's judgment.

Re: Is This Woman Modest?
I think there should be guidelines on the doctors as to how many embryos are implanted in the womb. There is an article in our paper today about a local couple that had 2 embryos implanted and one developed into triplets. They are the proud parents of quads.
From what I understand from following this oct. story on the news, there are no ethical guidelines on fertility doctors as to how many embryos are implanted.

Re: Is This Woman Modest?
When humans allow themselves to be Ginny pigs and seem to enjoy it there is a deep crack in the core of our society...oh...how we need a living Christ centered America once again...I am alarmed how soon values are no longer values...That picture gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach...
