My BIL did this for about 6 months. I am not sure of all the results - but I know he lost about 80 lbs!

Very regularly I do the one day fast.My personal reason I have a need to pray and reach to God and intercede ,for others ,also some situations can only be dealt with prayer and fasting.

Our church members did a 21 day fast in January... 3 days without food... 18 days fruits and vegetables. No breads or sugars... Our church has experienced a supernatural breakthrough as a result...

Fasting and prayer should be a time of discovering, exploring, and enjoying intimacy with God. It should be feasting in His presence, identifying with His purpose, and denying the natural to delight in the supernatural. Jesus assumed His disciples would fast when He said, "When you fast," not if you fast (Matthew 6:16,17). .
Here is the key IMHO: Such desires are only fed by the performance of the act. In other words, as one fasts, the spiritual man is fed and desires to be fed even more. Such hungers are only satisfied in the continuation of the action.

okay...,

What does it mean to "fast" for two meals a day, or, when a person just can't seem to get by the first day?

Is this regarded as failure and, if not, what does it imply?

Lack of will power and/or discipline?

I went on the Daniel Fast some time last year. I like that fast. I think the toxins in our food nowadays can turn people off to fasting. You have the headache, which can last a couple of days.

Some headaches (people) don't go away no matter how long you fast.
