I will run and hide.

The UPC, Billy Cole, Jack Cunningham, Doug Kleindenst and many others used Tekle to get what they wanted. They ALL made money and gained popularity over the inflated numbers they gave out - which was nothing but lies to start with. It was all a big fat - bald faced deception.
I had a very well known Pastor and District Superintendent that told me personally - "We were on the plane - returning from Ethiopia and someone said - How many do you think there were? Some said - 10,000, then 30,000 then 50,000 and then 100,000 and by the time we got to the US and the reports came out - over 300,000 had received the Holy Ghost!" He said - I really don't think there were over 10,000 even there! He also said - Those boys tell Brother Cole what he wants to hear and then HE makes the reports!
I did see and talk with Teke personally (over 10 years ago) at the WAR Conference in London - which we sponsored for many years and had Teke and Sammy Stewart preach this particular year. This was a totally INDEPENDENT APOSTOLIC CONFERENCE with many from all kinds of Apostolic movements represented. I actually heard TEKLE with my own ears preach that "The United Pentecostal Church is the Only Church and you will go to hell if you are not in the United Pentecostal Church." Several of us were UPC at the time - but we were appalled that he would preach such a thing. We talked to him and told him what kind of conference this was and that there were many there that were NOT UPC - Including the Host Pastor! - He said again - "The United Pentecostal Church is the Bride of Christ and if you are not in it - you will be lost."
He preached so many strange things but he was a money maker for the UPC and when he dis-fellowshipped the UPC - according to the numbers they promoted - they lost HALF of all their worldwide membership!
They knew all along what he preached - they just kept it down or laughed and attributed it to a language and cultural barrier.
They will use this Brother Solomon the same exact way - it has already started - all for MONEY! I was there - saw it - heard it - that my friends - is the way it is!

For most of your post I'm happy to say you are deceived. I was there. I saw what happened over there. I preached their National Conference and other conferences there. I also did a three day whirlwind tour of the country preaching or teaching in 13 Churches in 3 days.
They had the real stuff. The numbers were verified in detailed records (of course, you won't believe that because it would make your post look wrong). I was there. I saw it. I saw the records and scores of the baptisms.
In their ministers conference alone there were 10,000 outside that couldn't get in because the place was so full.
Teklemariam's downfall was that he started believing his own fan club. I told some that it was coming before it ever happened. It was evident. I was there with the one who won him to the Lord and saw him become beligerant with her over his 'superiority' attitude. It was a GREAT confrontation and I was there to see it firsthand.
The book? He was in my HOME for some of that and had me retyping various chapters until I advised him that I wasn't sure some of his statements could be backed up with Bible. As we debated (kindly) he decided he should change some of it yet again. Obviously he changed his mind after he left my home.
Bro. Epley, he aluded to the false doctrine for a few years before the final chaos of the Apostolic Church of Ethiopia. He always denied it - or said, "We're saying the same thing just with different terminology" - until the end when WE were disfellowshipped by them.
Again, his downfall was wrapped up in the last statement he made in his argument, "I am the Moses of Ethiopia. I'm the Prophet here and what I say is the gospel."
As for Bro. Solomon, a GREAT man that should have been elevated in their movement. Another was Bro. Dagu who was as much like Jesus as any man I've ever met. The problem was that their 'Moses' didn't need any 'Aarons'.
If I blame the UPC for anything it would be for not demanding that there be other leaders brought to the forefront of their movement. Something to do with that 'absolute power corrupts' thing would fit their struggle very well.

Trust me. I am sad to say that there is still one divine flesh preacher still in the UPC. I pray that situation becomes rectified soon.

That divine flesh doctrine really destroys the atonement. To do away with the Humanity of The Incarnate Christ is to do away with the purpose of the virgin birth and the death of Christ in His passion.

You are correct - I was not there - I just took the word of those that were - including a very prominent Pastor and DS in the UPC. If I am "deceived" as you say - I was deceived then by some of the most prominent men in the UPC - they were the ones telling the stories!
I certainly did not agree with his theology when I heard him preach that the UPC was the Bride of Christ and you would be lost if you were not in it - and I certainly do not agree with his thoughts or theology now according to what some say he teaches and the remarks that some heard him say.
I do plan on meeting with TEKLE while he is here and asking questions of him concerning these things.

Brother Steadfast,
Although I have heard many arguments over the size of crusades, number of converts in one service...it seems that all will admit there was great revival and many members.
You hit the nail on the head with your analysis of the downfall. Superiority bordering on infallibility.
We have the privilege of hosting Bro Solomon next weekend. I pray we can be a blessing to the truth-loving Ethiopian church.

Re: Bro Solomon from Ethiopia spoke at our church
Tek was the Wendells first convert, and he believes your lost if you dont believe it .He has always thought he got these visions that no one else did, all the way back, your right he preached it for a long time but when he wrote the book everyone knew.I have friends who totally financed a new church over there and it was seized by the goverment at Teks direction. You can get the gov. to do whatever you want with lies or graft or both.Preachers were beaten and imprisoned including Solomon i believe and some still are.Tek is now financed by another org i believe.Bro Solomon is doing a fine job and the truth is growing very fast.As far as the UPC goes they were afraid i think, to do anything thinking it would cause more damage then him. Finally they were forced to do it ,after several independent ministers in this country continued to go over there and support and help Solomon combat this and its working i guess.
