Re: As a child, "What did it sound like to you?"
This world is not my home
I'm just a passing thru
If heavens not my home
dear Lord what would I do
The angels pecked on me (The angels beckon me)
'till I'm an open sore (to heaven's open door)
and I can't feel at home in this world anymore!

There is a bomb in Gilead... (There is a Balm in Gilead)
and
Right in the corner where you are... (Brighten the corner...)

Now wait a minute! What was the Name of God's Son? Was it Jesus or was it Andy? "Andy walks with me, Andy talks with me, Andy tells me I am his own"

Church Choir: "Will there be any stars in my crown?"
Church Choir from the Church across the street: "No not one! No not one!"

My daughter sings "Shout with the boys of Tridom, shout with the boys of Praise...."

Re: As a child, "What did it sound like to you?"
I listen to black gospel a lot and there's a song they are playing on the radio that I still can't figure out what they are saying - - it sounds like they are saying "it's cheaper to keep her".....

We took songbooks and tried to match up two song titles to see what kind of silly sentences we could make. Sometimes we'd get a bit carried away with the laughter and our parents would look over at us with a glare that made us put the songbooks up. We knew what would happen if they heard us laughing again--and it wouldn't be pleasant.
