I will note that these standards are certainly not immutable...back in the day, it wasn't modest unless the skirt came down to mid-calf and the sleeves were below the elbow. I never heard of the collarbone rule; the rule was, rather, "does it show cleavage?"

Hard to preach something as modest or for all time when the standards are ever-changing.

Hmm... maybe the church I knew best had a connection... they got enough to make staying in worthwhile.

Or you could do like the WPF pastors daughter when they went skiing at a youth outing, wear the dress so long it covers the high top boots and the ski pants ! BTW Dan, i thought Carlton Coon was WPF.

There is no explosive revival.

I know of no churches in a two state area who have grown by more than 50 over the last decade. Of course, I exclude those churches who have "grown" by stealing from other churches.

The trade-off you speak of .... also seems to be affecting the WEC ... losing established and even legacy churches to start-ups has affected the coffers.

#1 You compromisers are off your rocker! Where are you getting your math from! We are HAVING REVIVAL!!!!!

#2 Okay... so we're NOT having REVIVAL, but this is the narrow way. We're not interested in being the "fastest growing" anything. We are interested in pleasing Jesus!

Oh... I my brain has gone numb. What is "revival" again?

I find this kind research and transparency refreshing. Maybe, just maybe this will bring about some restructuring of the organization. For too long, these trends have been brushed under the rug and denied. Only when we admit there is a problem and study it can we come up with solutions.

Re: HMD, Coon & DKB recognize past failures

While reading through this a couple of question came to mind.

1. Is Rex Johnson still UPC? I thought he just spoke at the ACN conference, or am I thinking of the wrong person?

2. Why doesn't the UPC rewrite its rules/bylaws since large amounts of it's followers pay no attention to the rules against going to amusement parks, movie theaters and organized sports events? Isn't it time to update?

You mean, move the goal line to where the ball is?
