He taught us never to judge "the English" Christians, though he himself was a member in good standing of the Old Order Mennonite church. He valued common sense.
When I was caught recording the preacher on a "forbidden" tape player, he chastised me for recording and mocking the preacher, and he quickly added, "we would be having a different discussion altogether if I thought you were recording so you could share the gospel with the elderly that can't be in church..."
So... I know you are in search for a AAF member, but for me Super Conservative means Elam Hoover who taught me how one can be conservative without raining hellfire on those who practice more liberality.
When my father passed suddenly there were many "English" scattered throughout the crowd of One Thousand. He left a positive Christian witness in many lives.

Great tribute to your dad Hoovie. I also was blessed with a great Christian father who led by example.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: SUPER-CON... where is AFF's hero?
I have a question,
how did these folks practice water baptism?
Was it by immersion, pouring, or sprinkling?

Pouring. Though, by request it could be done by immersion.
You also might enjoy reading something I wrote which was published in the Pentecostal Herald http://apostolicfriendsforum.com/sho...4&postcount=38

Man... I was going to suggest Jesus but he doesn't post on forums and he was always doing stuff to upset the Cons & Ultra Cons... so he's not the hero you are looking for.
