Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
Half time shows during the Superbowl are just ridicules any way you look at it. It is the artist singing 60 second versions of 5 or 6 of their biggest hits. Boooorrrrrring.
I watch for the football!
(And the Budweiser commercials.)

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
bad publicity only works for people wanting to get their own trashy reality shows like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. This is not the kind of publicity the church should have

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
Ive seen chiors appear with other artists and perform one of the artists worldly songs. I never saw it as a positive advertisement for the choir since I never knew who the choir was to begin with and the presentation had nothing to do with Jesus

Now... if it were a Christmas program and they were asked to sing for Christ's glory on national television, I'd whole heartedly support them. But this was one of the enemy's traps. I believe they deserve much honor and distinction for standing up and declining involvement for the sake of Christ's glory.
Kudos to them! God BLESS you IBC for being a light in a darkened world.

Well said. Great decision IBC.

Re: IBC Declined To Sing With Madonna/Super Bowl
I'm just trying to figure out why IBC got asked to sing with Madonna, of all people. At first, I would think someone was trying to pull a prank...
Hands down, I'm glad the two won't be joining together. I think IBC is far more of a "Ray Of Light" than Madonna ever could to be...

That's what it all boils down to, really. How could a church who preaches consistently against such activities even remotely put a stamp of approval on her lifestyle by singing with her????
There's quite a debate going on on Facebook right now, with strong feelings on both sides. Many are upset that IBC declined, because in their minds, it was a great opportunity to be a "light unto the world". Others, of course, applaud the decision.
Whether you think it's right or wrong, you have to honor IBC's consistency. How can you preach against worldly music for years, and then let your choir not only sing a wordly song, but back up one of the most notoriously immoral artists of our time? Just doesn't compute.
