on my part, sometimes I forget that it is not wise to open up to much on a forum, a lesson I'm still learning. I treat the forum like a journal sometimes, and then when it bites me, I'm shocked.

AYR - I love you Sister. We are partners in prayer.
Oh no, it is perfectly fine to open up when you need to! I have a couple of times over the past several years when things got truly desperate. I would just try to make the thread specifically about the need otherwise guys like ME will pick out some other detail and go with it without seeing the real reason for the thread.

Will be praying!

It's ok to feel afraid and it's ok to find hope "in a word" from preaching. Even the oncologists prescribe positive affirmations for their patients.

I love you too Sister. Hugs to you.

But anyway

I was reading about Joseph, and how he was sold into slavery, but God made all he did prosper.

Later on when his brothers came to Egypt for food and Joseph reveals to them that even though they sold him into slavery God has preserved him, and he says to them

". . . now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life."

and the whole thing is kinda strange. because God could have just prevented the famine in the first place. but he allows Joes brothers to throw him into a pit, his Father is bereft with grief. Joseph is thrown in a dungeon and has to live with the knowledge that his brothers were going to kill him but decided to sell him instead.

but he tells his brothers, don't worry God planned this all out so I could save your lives.

It's kind of a recurring theme, create a situtation where you know everything is going to be messed up, then create a solution, the solution comes at the cost of heavy pain and suffering.

then I thought, it's kinda like God is hazing these people, maybe to get them to form a bond so they could become a nation, like what you do in the military or a fraternity.

I mean God is the only game in town, where else are we going to go, but, sometimes the plan seems messed up to me.
I too feel like the plan is messed up,but I guess this is where faith comes into play.
