Commonsense, was it him that God sent to San Francisco (or some city) and said don't do any outreach, just bring down the strongholds by prayer? I remember reading that somewhere. If that was him what book was that in?
Thanks for your reply!

I never heard anyone knock on Bro. Barnes because when he worked in the Spirit he was right on.

Re: Looking for info on Kenneth Reeves
I think I have two or three books by Kenneth Reeves but I haven't read them for a while. I think one is on the godhead and one is on the Holy Ghost Baptism.
The only thing I remember reading (and my memory is hazy on this) is that he said he was not "Jesus Only" but was "Lord Jesus Christ Only." So I figured he was one of those guys who believed in a triune name--Lord plus Jesus plus Christ-- for a triune God -- Father plus Son plus Holy Ghost--- and if Father, Son and Holy Ghost could be considered one God, then those three terms (Lord and Jesus and Christ) could be considered one name.
Some Oneness Pentecostals say that those who use "Lord Jesus Christ" in baptism are trinitarian --using three names for three persons.
When I was a young Christian and joined the Baptist Church I remember reading a UPC tract that said the name of the Father is Lord, the name of the Son is Jesus, and the name of the Holy Ghost is Christ so God's full name is "Lord Jesus Christ." I had some problems with that but there are some OP's that teach it that way. I don't know if anyone teaches it that way any more.

You would be wrong! That's not at all what he believed!
"A UPC tract that said the name of the Father is Lord, the name of the Son is Jesus, and the name of the Holy Ghost is Christ so God's full name is "Lord Jesus Christ." That would be exactly right!

Re: Looking for info on Kenneth Reeves
Sam, do you believe that the name of the Son of God is Son, or is it Jesus?
There's a lot of difference between a title and a name!

It's a real question alright!
Sam can't seem to answer the question maybe you can!
Why not baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, plus all of the rest of the names (titles) in Isa 7:9 Wonderful, Mighty God, Prince of Peace etc, and of the H.G.?
You walk into a room full of men and say, hey "son".
And everyone turns around and looks at you, because they are all "sons".
But they all have a name!
Hey son what's your name?
and ye shall call his name Jesus!

I'm convinced that either you or I are stoned.
I don't know how or why Sam's post sent you in that direction. Sam believes that the name of God's Son is Jesus. There was nothing in his post to make a sober person think otherwise.

I got baptized by faith, what significance does it hold because of the words produced by another mans vocal chords?
There is what 4 different lines used in regards to baptism in acts, none are the same, and one does not even use the name, just said they was baptised in the name of the Lord..

so the Father has one name--Lord
the son has another name --Jesus
the Holy Ghost has still another name --Christ
???
three separate names but they make up one name?
sounds like three separate persons but they make up one God

Re: Looking for info on Kenneth Reeves
there are just differences of opinion among Christians when it comes to which "words" to use during the baptism ritual. we're not all gonna see this the same. Some cover it by using a combination of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost plus the name of Jesus and maybe throw in Lord and Christ for good measure.
