Prax... I can't resist this... do you really offer WiFi at your church? So, I'm thinking of all the people enjoying the free WiFi while church is going on....

You can password-protect it. That's what I did where I go.

Re: Wireless router help

Well, I got the new router, Netgear N600, dual band, gigabit. The high end does nothing for blueray players but at least now I got enough signal to do the streaming. Thanks for all the input.

Lastly, when I call netgear for help on getting the router to recognize the laptop I got Muhammad.... he got me going but then ran diagnostics on my laptop. Wanted to fix and charge 59.00! I put the halt on that and disconnected him. He tried calling back several times. Question, why would a major brand name put a help number that connects to something that is trying to bilk you? This was a brand new product!

The answer: $$$$$$. I called a major computer manufacturer once for help, all they wanted to do was sell me a new computer. If you call Microsoft for help after your warranty runs out they will charge you something like $90 just to talk. It's just the way companies do. They want your money, ya know.

I went to the trouble to email their customer service dept and give my opinion. Got an apology but looked more like a form letter response.
My son would be laughing at me by now if he knew this.
