That is about when I bought my LG's at BB! So you know the $600 I paid for both was a bargain. Now granted that price is without the pedestals but it was with the hardware to stack them which we did. Makes the dryer right at the perfect level to load without bending over.

They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Do your washer and dryers play the little tune when they are done?

Re: Washing Machines
But...if you are a prepper, you won't be able to use the special detergent.
I make my own laundry soap for less than $2 a gallon.

Do you have to drain yours each time you use it?

Who says were not stock piling? And if we have to manually wash our cloths in a 5 gallon bucket, a tablespoon of detergent goes a LONGGGG way.

I don't like having to buy a more expensive brand. Plus I just open a brand new box from SAMs and used one washing of it before it crashed.

My wife made our own laundry soap for about a year. Then the novelty wore off and we are back to using Gain. LOL

No. I don't think we ever drain it. We do use the special cycle for cleaning it.

Maybe it is the newer models you have to drain.
I like Gain det as well, is it HE qualified or is that a later model requirement as well?

I can see that happening. But as least she will know how to make it if ever needed again.
