Been Thinkin', both poems made me laugh because I could sometimes say those things about here. However, she was always the more communicative of the two. I had a long day yesterday, and had little sleep before going to work at 0000. I just could not make myself go to bed. I had lost all desire for sleep, but I will be well prepared to sleep when I get off at 1200. I will keep everyone updated on my search for my next cat.

Jay I know the pain you are feeling as I also am a pet lover. I lnow my pet is on her last days ad well. I will truly miss her when her time comes.
I have found getting another pet soon is the best medicine. Just something about new life that brings a smile to your face.

Jay I'm so sorry to hear about your cat.
Our pets truly are family members.
We have a little 5 year old Chihuahua that
we love dearly and she goes most everywhere
with us. One of my grown sons was picking on
me one day and said we loved that dog more
than him.
The cat rescue that I volunteer at has sent cats all over the USA. Friends of felines rescue center at Defiance Ohio. We have all kinds of cute cats.I got a deaf cat from there.I have 4 cats that are very healthy. Ages 4-8.
Jay, I am so sorry you lost your pet! I remember coming home one night and finding our family pet (cat) lying dead (still warm) on our front porch. Our two youngest children were heart broken. I must admit I felt a sadness myself as we had had her several years. That has been a long time ago but I remember the feeling of loss! Hugs!
My youngest brother pointed that out to me as well. For those of us who are single, our pets are our immediate family. I am very thankful that I still have Shade (male black cat) for company. Much of my thought on getting another cat is to keep him company. My hours are such that it is not fair to keep him isolated from interacting with another. Further, it is not mentally healthy to endure that type of isolation either. I am looking into a number of different avenues for getting another cat. It is more a matter of time and money than anything else. I want to get his shots updated before getting another cat.

Man I know how you feel! When Stripe my female cat of 15 years died (Had her since she was a kitten...she just walked into the house one day!)....it broke my heart. It was like having a member of the family die.
I just haven't been able to bring myself to get another cat. This one was so human, it ate better that WE did! I would get a burger from Mc Donalds and it would stare at me...like... "Are you going to be a pig and eat all of that? or are you going to give me some?"
She was hilarious. Then you would give her some of what you was eating and she would eat it and simply walk away...no thanks..no nothing. LOL!
I think back on those times I had with stripe and smile...sometimes still brings a tear when I think that she is gone. And yeah, I am single also, so it makes it harder.
