NO biggie, but I agree with anointing a person, but anointing doors and windows? Demons do not need a door or window to come or go. They can go through walls! Where did the church ever anoint objects aside from people with oil in the New Testament? I've always wondered why people do that.
Anyway, just a thought.

Surely, even you aren't that scriptural ignorant.

All those rituals come from Catholicism.
The most ritualistic of all Christian religions.

I don't see it in the NT. Perhaps some take the passover from the OT where blood was put on the doorposts as to why?
One former UPC pastor would do this and so others in the church followed along, believing that is how it was to be done.
Doing it doesn't hurt anything, but I agree it is not needed.

Re: How to Conduct a "Demon Trial"
Here's where some folks get the idea of"anointing THINGS"
Exo 40:9 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.
But really, the only folks i read about in the NEW Testament church anointing and being anointed were elders and the sick.
Jas 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Yes, I agree with your last part. I think we take things from the Old Testament that are not meant to be taken. That's where Catholics got holy water from, you know!
Num 5:17 KJV And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:

Harmless, yes. But certainly not New Testament.
