My story is not much different from most, I was raised and preached pre-tib most of my life. But I could never get everything to line up. Matt 24 also confused me, it seemed like there was a formula to make it all work together, and as I am not one for memorization, I could never remember the formula. I was even leaning towards mid trib. when my new son in law ask me to read Larry Smiths study on the 70th week of Daniel.
Because Larry's studies are so well laid out, it was easy to read and see. But it was also something new, although I saw the truth in his study, I was not ready to accept it at face value. I spent the next two years in study, not of disp. and fulfilled eschatology but all view on prophecy. After two years I switched to partial preterism. But with the transformation from believing a gap in the 70 weeks of Daniel to no gap, I realized that I must change my view and understanding of all prophecy. A year later I switched to full preterism.
I will say that although my switch to partial was because of Larry Smiths study. My switch to FP was due to my own studies, then comparing them to other FP.
I don't think it is a bad thing to go from PP to FP, I was messaging Larry S. a couple years ago and told him, to which he said that many have done that.

I turned preterist, because I had a talent in making things up right out of the blue.
I constantly lie, thefefore preterism fits my religion perfectly.
I simply metaphorize away any passage that I want to mean something else.
It is fun, you should try it sometime!
You wont be saved, but you will definitely turn some heads while you are here on earth!
