My great aunt saved a newspaper article that was written when I was just a baby because it was about my dad.
Apparently, he was riding his Harley down the road and lighting firecrackers and throwing them as he was going. Unfortunately, as he threw one of the lit firecrackers, it flew right into the open car window of a police car. Went past the officer driving and landed on the passenger seat where it went off. Dad, of course, got a ticket.

Illegal. But the cops do nothing about them. The fireworks they sell in Fillmore though are all supposed to not fly or explode, but they do have some that shoot up and they do have some that explode with a bunch of "poplets"...they are fun to toss up in the air as high as you can get them.
Where do you live in Ventura county if you don't mind saying?
