I went in and kind of gravitated toward the empty pool tables. The dean of students approached me as I was racking up the balls and said, "We don't play pool in the ... District." I was dumbstruck. The only thing I could mumble was "But my pastor has a pool table in his basement..." To which he replied, "That isn't in the ... District." LOL.

Nothing about the AS ... is about unity ... it seeks to stifle rather tolerate.

plenty of people that i know believe the AS was the final death blow dealt to the UPC. At first, i would never agree with this, but now that a good deal of time has passed, I have come to believe this is most likely the case.
when i remember the organization and my district Prior to the AS, i can only come to the conclusion that the Org. has Never been the same furthermore, the fellowship has nearly all but died , at least here.
IMO, the Uniting of 2 different sets of beliefs, 2 ways to to salvation, the UPC was a pipe dream to begin with. I know many don't want to hear that but the truth shall set you free ! lol

Not on your life... but I think you new that.
In the articles of faith, the basic and fundamental doctrine of the UPCI shall be... that is the phrase I am referring to... the one that ends with not contending for their view to the disunity of the body until we all come in the unity of the faith.

"No one would deny any denomination has an absolute right to delineate its standards, and seek to uphold them within their organization. However, to deny fellowship with believers over such matters smacks of elitism at best, and is pharisaical legalism at worst."
When the article was written I realized the existence of the advertising on TV debate, and that some had threatened to withdraw fellowship over it. But, with the passing of Res #3 it turns out the article was more on point than even I realized.
It is hoped and prayed that Men of God can work around their differences and labor together. Remembering that it is ALL ABOUT HIM. Should they feel the need to realign themselves with those of similar standards so be it, but to refuse trans-denominational fellowship over such things??
