It allows for it - it doesn't say you have to do it, so, I don't see where someone preaching against doing it would be lying. They just choose not to use the TV for advertising or ministry.

Brutally cruel irony.

Brother Epley, what do you think?

Does the change make the cons liars if they sign the AS?

I really wish Brother Epley would tackle this one.

Of course not. The new "rule" is just a deregulation for those that want to use it. It does not imply or force anyone to say "yes TV is ok" and thus to preach against TV is fine.

But that does bring out a flaw to begin with...the AS was a huge mistake. It was a huge mistake to take Direction and make them Laws. This Org was supposed to be about Uniting OPs of different flavors to spread the gospel. It instead got bogged down in trying to control it's members and come up with rules and regulations rather than guidelines and principles.

Instead it because a "hand us your brain or get out" organization much like the Roman Catholic Church

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Maybe I'm dense re this whole AS...
There were some legal issues behind the 1992 AS. I for one will not discuss those here.

Seems everyone then created a loophole until the last few years when some Districts instead choose to not enforce some of the basics.

Barb, it does not make sense for you are not licensed.
