DG, this is simple. just take a look around. it is one thing to claim to be PCI. But when you look at what that was and compare it to what is now making the claim, you find that in a good portion of these guys, (not CCNashville) dont resemble the PCI they claim to be.
Well, what I am looking for is the now. Who out there is preaching the PCI message? Are there preachers in the UPC/Apostolic movement that are claiming PCI and are not following through with believers getting the Holy Ghost or Baptism in Jesus Name? I couldn't imagine an Apostolic church were people didn't receive the fullness of the Holy Ghost.

I dont know why you are looking for it and I sure dont know where to send you to find it. I guess you can go to Nashville. CC1 says Christ Church works pretty good.
They baptize a lot of people every year.

The difference is that the old PCI brethrenweren't embarassed to be Pentecostal and weren't trying to move away from emphasizing the message of Acts 2:38.
They came out of denominations to preach it and live it.
These new dudes are going the other direction, and have a totally different emphasis in their focus andministries.
Hearing Oscar Vouga or most any of the old time PCI guys preach, you couldn't have told them from their PAJC counterparts.
They weren't up trying to move away from being Apostolic.
We preach Acts 2:38 and have lots and lots of people each year baptized in Jesus' name and receive the Holy Ghost. We just don't preach that everyone else is doomed to hell, because we don't believe that. How does that differ from the original PCI????
That was the common ground with the Water Spirit men. today PCI means you do what you want and go to a spirit filled church. There is a big difference between the two.
Ok, well this is what I am getting at. See I went to a very PAJC type UPC church and there were many there in leadership that probably hadn't spoken in tongues in years. I know because I was one of them. It was a spirit filled church but the new birth was preached as happening after either, repentance, Holy Ghost, Baptism or a combination of the three steps. However, there were many who love the feeling and worship in the services but didn't speak in tongues often. What I am getting at is that there was not an emphasis on tongues after initial evidence except in the case of renewal. So what is the difference in a PCI wannabe and the UPC church I attended?
Could it just be a difference in pastoring style? Could it be that you might have a PCI preacher that didn't always have a ministry for seeing the folks get filled with the Holy Ghost but was known to be PCI so was accused of being weak on the message?
But you could have the same exact pastor in the same church being PAJC and he would be accepted as a great teacher or pastor because he preached Acts 2:38 but had the same results as the PCI preacher.
Forgive me if I am ignorant on this subject. These are honest questions that I am wondering about.

Sherri, the difference is you don't tear down the rest of us.

This is what I am looking for and I don't see how this is any different. I read the book "Christianity without the Cross" and I don't see any difference.
I wonder if you would be placed in the "New Breed" claiming to be PCI or are they talking about other folks.

I dont preach anyone else is doomed either.
but I dont tell them they are fine just like they are either. (that was not an insinuation that you do)
