I am going to make some homemade hot chocolate with powdered milk. Here is a recipe I found from the internet:
HOT CHOCOLATE MIX
8 quarts powdered milk
1 pound Nestle's Quick
1 pound confectioner's sugar
8 ounces coffee creamer, powdered
Mix together and store in covered container. Use 1/4 cup and add hot water for each mug.
Serving Size: 12.
I am not going to make this much. And I will use generic chocolate milk mix.

Serving size: 12????
That recipe has to make more servings than that... If not, it's cheaper to get the boxes of 10 cocoa mixes at the dollar store for $1.

Yeah. Ignore that. I made half a batch tonight and it made a lot. It tastes really good too!

Re: How to Save Money
K-mart is on Kristin's NO-SHOP list. They are dropping the "Merry Christmas" greeting in lieu of "Happy Holidays" soooo... NO SHOP for K-Mart.

Well......that's not going to stop me from going there. I guess if that's her conviction though, I respect it!!

"Never pay full retail!"
Also, stay away from Gift cards this season as the store may not be around in the New Year!
If you get a gift card from a retailer--go shopping soon!

Re: How to Save Money
Have you ever gotten coupons from thecouponclippers.com ? I love that site... I picked up 25 of the glade spray coupons that are $1 off two cans. I also have 10 (which was the limit) of the suave $1 off two products coupons. With the double coupon deal at KMart, I will get 50 cans of glade spray and 20 bottles of suave shampoo FREE... and will only be paying sales tax on the items. Plus I have several $1 off coupons on deodorants, toothpaste, etc that I will use. Can't wait to see what the ticket shows the total savings to be.

Re: How to Save Money
Have you ever checked out these sites for coupons:
couponmom.com
dazzling-deals.com
dealcatcher.com
mygrocerydeals.com
thecouponclippers.com
webbyplanet.com
wow-coupons.com
there was an article in Reader's Digest with these and a whole bunch of other links for deals. I'll post more later if anyone is interested.
